We were welcomed and brought to our table with a professional manor. The food was out before our tummy could rumble and perfectly presented, even better in taste. We had check backs and were felt well looked after by the staff special thanks to lauren for making our food with care

We've been looking forward to coming here for a while now, and I'm glad we finally made it.
The decor is lovely, lots of green and gold with very nice furniture. Cosy, but not in an old country pub way...the lighting is fantastic which adds to an overall very trendy and upmarket feel.
Staff were welcoming and chatty, very friendly and polite.
The food was really nice, but not amazing, and I thought it was a little overpriced for what it was, but not by much. I'd probably go back as a group of friends for a night, rather than date night as a couple.

Been here several times, and has always been a decent night, but last night was better than usual. To be honest can’t really find anything wrong with the whole evening. The food was great. Fantastic food , Fantastic service in an wonderful Atmosphere. My 83 year old mover loved the night we could not ask for better. Our waitress Belle was very polite and friendly a great assist to the business getting people with the right attitude is so important.

I ordered a cold buffet. The food was amazing! The team were so incredibly helpful. I arrived slightly early which wasn't an issue, they brought the food out early, plates etc. were cleaned up quickly. The area where we were sat was lovely and out the way as we had a couple of children with us. Very impressed with the service and quality. Highly recommend! They made my son's christening day even more special!

I have to say that I wasn’t looking forward to dining here yesterday, previously experienced mediocre food and lacklustre service. But I have admit that the food has improved measurably, with an extensive menu that was well presented and reasonably priced.
The staff were fantastic, we were an awkward table with three coeliacs amongst us, but they explained the menu choices and nothing was too much trouble.

Absolutely terrible. This place used to be THE PLACE to go for food and drinks. I came here for lunch 3weeks ago and the service was dreadful then also. But went the other evening for a birthday meal with my partner and parents to give them a second chance as I remember how amazing this place used to be.. well I wish I hadn't bothered! 1) flying ants around the whole garden, (I understand it's nature but if you are a top gastropub, you get that sorted asap, especially when I asked the staff they said they have had the infestation for 2 weeks!Also the garden was filthy with glasses and rubbish everywhere. 2) the letter M is missing from the name at the entrance and was also missing on my last visit a month ago (again, presentation is key!!) 3) we ordered bread and olives which never came. 4) waited 40minutes for our food between starter and main, in the meantime the couple next to us had been waiting for there drinks which were sat on top of the bar for 10minutes.. 5) when the food eventually came my steak was cold, and had to be cooked again, once my family had there meals, mine came so had to eat alone.. Absolutely terrible!

More style and less substance! The decor is lovely and very stylish but unfortunately the menu is disappointing and although the staff were friendly there were not enough of them and service was extremely slack. When the food did arrive it was way below standard...no dressing on the salad small portions no extras etc. The endless Prosecco was very limited as staff took so long to come around with refills so that we did not get much at all! I will not go for food again...maybe a drink only.

My Grandad and I went yesterday for lunch. They notified us that they were short staffed so would be with us as quickly as possible. The staff were very busy and did their upmost to ensure customers were satisfied. I had the crispy duck salad which I will highly recommend...duck was cooked perfectly and the sauce complimented it well. The indoor decor is lovely and atmosphere nice too. Shall definitely be returning.

I really enjoyed our meal. We have never eaten here before just had drinks. I see some people where disappointed with there food, I can only say food and service was great and didn’t feel rushed to pay after our meal. I have always enjoyed the atmosphere and the surrounding looking forward to the summer so we can sit outside lovely place.

This pub used to be one of the best in the area, but I’m afraid Mitchell’s & Butler need to throw some serious investment into this place. It’s gone down the pan so much recently.
I just hope there’s some plans to bring it back up to the ‘Premium Country Pub’ standards. Currently I wouldn’t even put it in the ‘2 for 1’ category. The cleanliness of the place is not up to scratch, the furniture is covered in dirty stains. The decor is just tired and in need of attention. The toilets are disgusting, dirty floors, broken tiles, handles missing off taps, just badly maintained and just not nice. The standard of service is not up to the level it should be for a pub operating under this brand. Staff just not attentive enough, glasses left lying around, tables not cleaned between costumers, very often if eating, not got half the menu in stock, just overall a big ‘COME ON!!!’ It’s not that hard. Let’s get this place back on track, it has the potential to be a fantastic place, let’s please see this happen.

Went here last night with friends. Although the food was amazing, the waitress bought out everyone’s meal but mine (there was 4 of us) she apologised and said the chef forgot to cook my meal. My friends steak came out under-cooked and have to go back to the chef to be cooked further.

We went for a last minute meal out last night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The decor is nice and we were seated within minutes. We had starters which were lovely - although they used to serve complimentary bread and dipping oil which they no longer do. For mains, we ordered the Sunday roast but on reflection, we wish we had ordered off the ala carte menu. There was no beef left so my husband ordered the chicken and I went for the trio of roasts - opting for lamb instead of the beef. The meals were supposed to come with an assortment of accompaniments and unfortunately the meals arrived with many missing - we didn't actually realise straightaway but asked for a menu to check. I also only had a duo of roasts - fair enough if they had run out but it is courtesy to at least inform the customer. We both also found the meat dry! This isn't a £5 carvery after all, it was over £16 a meal. To be fair, our waiter recognised that we didn't receive a satisfactory service and discounted the bill quite considerably. He was extremely apologetic which is the only saving grace of the whole experience. We've been a few times over the years and this is the only time I've been disappointed. Hopefully only a blip but we won't be rushing to return.

Went to this pub for my birthday meal and the service provided was poor, the food was overpriced and when we wanted to use a January offer voucher code we were told it ran out on the 22nd in the extremely small fine print. It is therefore not a January offer. Was very disappointed.

It was very busy and the service was very slow. Waited ages at the bar - one person serving loads of cocktails. Food was lovely when it arrived. Was my birthday and felt a bit rushed that we waited so long and then people had to go. Just think this chain don't have enough staff on - there is always a wait at the bar at The Crown in Wolverhampton. Need to employ more staff.

We were greeted at the door by a staff member, we were straight to be seated in a good atmosphere all around. Staff were very helpful they knew the menu well and everything was described to us perfectly. My meal was very good however my partners venison was over cooked. Saying that overall experience was very good and we shall be returning.

Good food but the service was pretty shocking. Took ages for food to arrive, then ages for them to take plates away and then ages for the bill, had to go up and do it. Shocking for the amount of staff that were on and just standing around.

What a wonderful evening celebration meal. Leone our waitress was so attentive and helpful yesterday. Excellent service and food.. couldn't be faulted!. A thoroughly enjoyable dining experience.... would definitely make another visit.

This wa quite possibly the worst example of so called gastro pub dining that I have ever encountered.
A pre booked table of 15, so we ordered in advance. The table was booked for 19.30, we was finally served at approx 21.30. The food was either warm, or in some cases cold. No apologies offered, until staff was challenged.
Top prices charged, service diabolical, with food to match.

Came for the boxing day menu only to be told at the end of the main course that half the dessert options were no longer options! Manager never came to apologise either. Went to the crown at wergs Christmas eve and had better service, better food and better atmosphere
