We were staying in a guesthouse near this restaurant and were advised to go. I rang in advance to order a seafood platter in order to not be disappointed in not having all the shellfish we wanted. The manager John Henry took my call and he was very, very obliging. I requested lobster, crab, tiger prawns, king prawns, langustines and muscles. All of which arrived on a huge share platter for my husband and I along with bread and chips. It was outstanding and we can't fault anything. Our overall experience here was excellent from the service to the food. All staff were very polite, friendly and attentive, the restaurant was immaculate and even though it took us nearly 2 hours we managed to eat the whole lot. No before photos only one afterwards. We will definitely recommend here to everyone including Gordon Ramsey! Let's see him fault here....it's absolutely spot on! Thank you for an amazing experience.

The Henry's Bay restaurant looked good on paper but upon arrival it was okay. The car park was pretty tiny and the parking lines are barely visible from the drivers point of view making me having to adjust several times to make sure I was in my spot, the lines could really be re-painted. After sitting down at the table, we were attended by 2 beautiful waitresses who took our drinks order and gave the table some drinking water. Service I felt was really slow, front of house side, food service was really quick but that doesn't mean it's in the clear. A very cheery chap took our food order and he was a good laugh with the table. Our starters arrived and they were absoluetly devine, the smoked salmon, leek and potato soup was just gorgeous. Deep fried whitebait with garlic herb dip, delicious. It took a really long time for the front house staff to clear the starters off the table, I was almost thinking they might of forgotten us, but at least the view was to watch while waiting. Main meal was good, I ordered a medium rare lamb rump steak with onion gravy and black pudding mash. The black pudding mash combination was fantastic, it really worked well together. The lamb I was disappointed, ordered medium rare and got medium well, maybe the chef both thought the lamb and duck was medium well, I don't know, some sort of miscommicnation there. Overrall, great experience, lovely food for our last meal in the west coast of bonnie Scotland, if I was ever to have a road trip around the west coast or go back on holiday to "The Toon", I'll definitely come back. Price was reasonable

We didn't have a booking and it was obviously busy but they gave us a table in the bar area. The staff were great and very friendly. Service was excellent. We had scallops to start, seafood pancake and haddock/chips as mains. It was absolutely lovely and well priced. I would have no hesitatation in recommending this great value restaurant.

Went in for a quick bite and to stretch legs after 6 hours of ride on motorcycle thru Scotland. They were just opening at 5 pm, but the place filled in quickly. Good service and great food. Highly recommended 👌

Great restaurant, top notch service and the food could not be faulted. Had the mussels to start. Fish and chips for main course and creme brulee to finish washed down with a great little local IPA. Special mention to the fab Stuart who was extremely friendly and was clearly well liked by the customers!

Very pleased we managed to get a table at our second attempt. The service was fantastic. Attentive but not over the top and very friendly. We had a problem with one of our mains but this was dealt with very well and the lady in charge seemed really upset that it wasn't right. Other than that the food was very good and nicely presented too. We had lobster to share and it was delicious. Starters and desserts were also excellent. We will definitely return when in the area.

Recently met up with a friend here for dinner since we were in Stranraer briefly (en route to a funeral). Been at the Bay House several times over the years. Always found the food and service excellent, and if you go at the right time, good value!

It is a nice cosy resraurant. For the weekend better to book a table and you can ask for an outside sitting if you wish. Price was ok. Food was tasty, delicious and a nice amount. The fish plate was just a little bit disappointing. Steamed mussles were nice we shared and was enough. Main course was fish plate and lobster one of them with chips and the other with veges (so so ok). Service was ok because was one negative thing, i know we finished late (but still was more table) but they just put the bill on the table, we were waiting somone as we saw they came back to the other table and you could pay. But unfortunatelly after 10minutes we decided not wait longer so we went to the "reception" to pay. Was strange as every other table payed at their table before. But otherwise everything was good. And just about 10 minutes walk from Center

Dined here once duing our stay, as could not get booked again, which was a mistake on our part. One disapointing factor was they advertised Dog Friendly, YES if you want to eat outside as they only have 2 Pod's. Book well in advance if you want a POD. Menu not the same as on the Website.

Definitely a place to visit if you're in the area, we had a 3 course meal, predominantly seafood based and it was exceptional, some of the best I've eaten (Seafood pancakes were amazing, too good to not tuck in straight away, sorry no photo!!). Bit confused to be given chips and roast potatoes as well as veg but hey, gave me choices 😋 All in all highly recommended and staff were all lovely.
