Go for the experience, not the food.
The staff could not have been more attentive. When the beer I ordered was out of stock, he brought samples in little glasses so I could choose another!
Excellent atmosphere, not too crowded.
Food very average. Tasted much more of the condiment rather than the actual ingredient.
Reasonable prices for 2023, can't complain.
No parking at all!
In summary:
Go for a pint or two, it's an excellent experience. Don't spend your money on the food; there's nothing wrong with it, but there is better, cheaper, elsewhere.

An atmospheric pub in Stratford upon Avon that serves delicious food. Said to be one of the oldest in town and named after David Garrick actor and playwright 1717-1779. We had a family meal here. The service and food were excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. We would definitely visit again.

An incredibly old pub. You can literally feel the history all around you. Best garlic bread I ever had. It accompanied some delicious mac and cheese. Amazing.....

Came on a whim while working away not sure where to eat, Think Pub grub done right 👍 the Garrick burger was fantastic with a extra side of marrow gravy which was like crack.
Service at the bar was spot on, very friendly and welcoming bonus that we even made it for the happy hour!
Timber building dating back to the 1400's keeping a lot of the original features was a great place to sit in.
Definitely coming again.

So nice! Had a lovely Sunday roast, as well as some prawns and chorizo, great atmosphere and delicious food!

Pretty amazing, this place has been serving patrons for over 700 years! I didn't know it was a Greene King pub, as I'd normally avoid their standard pub menus. And wouldn't usually recommend them.
BUT! This place does an incredible pie with a mouthwatering jug of gravy on the side. When we walked out we saw the sign "Award Winning Pie"
Yes, definitely!!

With a nice ambience and a very good and friendly service this pub is the perfect spot to enjoy some of our favourite pub dishes. Would definitely recommend.

Great service. I had the Chicken Kyiv, which was a bit greasy, but full of flavor. The ambiance carried that of an olde British pub. Perfect lighting and noise levels were moderate.

Gorgeous historic Inn! Amazing old English architecture...
One of the oldest inns in England. Great food and drinks are also served. Would definitely recommend a visit to here if you're in the area.

Love this pub. Whilst I didn't have food, it looks appealing and the drinks selection and service also very nice.
It's what you come to England for, the old school traditional pubs man.
Thanks

We were only in Stratford upon Avon for a couple of days, we'd passed the Garrick earlier in the day and thought it would be a nice place to go for our evening meal and we wasn't disappointed, friendly staff and great food at reasonable prices
I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Stratford upon Avon, but go in early or book as it's a popular place

My hubby and I have literally just eaten the steak & ale pie!! It was incredible!! The service has been excellent from start to finish!! Cannot recommend it enough!!

Fantastic pub, friendly and welcoming staff. Very nice quality beers too. The speciality beer named ‘Garricks Shakesbeer’ is a particularly tasty ale. Beautiful pub and I can highly recommend here.

We were firstly sat at a table that was so dark and gloomy that we couldn't even read the menu, there shouldn't even be a table there, it was like a cubby hole! Asked to be moved and thankfully they moved us to a better table. Starters were lovely, but the mains were just awful! We both had Lamb Shanks and they were tasteless fat and gristle, and veg was virtually raw. We will not be dining there again!

We decided to pop into Straford yesterday evening. It was lovely walking around early evening enjoying a rare spell of sunshine. Having decided to stay and eat, we chose the Garrick, based on the menu advertised.
Sadly the food did not live up to our expectations. Uncooked chips, a lamb shank covered in inch thick white fat and a tea spoon of frozen vegetables. Our displeasure was made to the appropriate management, no apology offered, just £5 off the total bill.
We are not used to complaining and certainly would have much rather just had a good meal. It is not somewhere we will be returning to in a hurry.
Maybe the 'oldest pub in Stratford' needs to employ a chef that can do the pub justice.....if not, at least one that can identify fat from meat, cooked from frozen and the ability to cook the most basic of food....... Chips!

Pub was a lovely place but the service was appalling. Waited nearly and hour for food and customers coming in after us were served first. When I complained there was no apology . The staff were not attentive as most of our drinks came late or did not arrive at all. Would not recommend if you prefer quick service.

Gin fab; ale fab;service dreadful. Waited ages and two meals were brought out 20 minutes before the other two. Fish finger sandwich was a large piece of battered fish not fingers and the nachos were without cheese!! Just dry tortilla chips with a couple of dips. We plan to go back to Stratford in the spring but will be giving this place a wide berth!

Was not welcoming waited 40mins for frozen potatoes and frozen vegetables (not fresh) food was cold when it arrived no apologies for keeping us waiting, cleared the table and didn't ask if there was anything else we would like, service was very poor will not recommended.
Stratford is a amazing place go visit lots of other places to eat x

Had a very good meal here today 6th Aug. Four of us travelled from Chelt./Winchcombe by bus and spent the day in Stratford. We had booked a table a few days before hand . We all had the Sunday roast and we all had the beef. We were not disappointed.Very tasty and good sized portions.Very reasonably priced.Staff very polite and helpful.Would not hesitate to recommend. We will certainly go back there again on our next visit to Stratford.

Poor quality food and not as stated on the menu. Slopped on the plate :(
when I complained there was no apology and only told I was to get a 10% discount.
Such a shame as it's a lovely building. Could be so much better.
Steve Amos
Yeah, very chilled, very nice place. 30 odd years since I was there last. Lovely place to spend an afternoon. The food is good, but best to book. You'll not need to eat for the next couple of days. Saying that, there's always sambuca, it does help. Absolutely recommended.

Disappointing Carvery today usually lovely shame nice old pub friendly staff but wont be returning to eat v poor

One of the oldest pubs in Stratford if not the oldest. Great atmosphere good old fashioned boozer don't let the new age chain pubs take over.
