We stopped in to while visiting from out of town. We spent a pleasant evening in the outdoor space in the back. We were there on Tuesday so no food was available. The bartender was very friendly. I had a beer and a gin and tonic. The gin and tonic was very nicely made. We enjoyed our time here.
Amazing pub with awesome food and a fantastic range of craft beers including Tiny Rebel and Verdant on tap as well as London Black that I’ve wanted to try for a while.
Great place 😀 really enjoyed it and the food was excellent 👌 and the cocktails were just outstanding:D a must place to go :) 10/10
Also a dog friendly place :)
Popped in there Saturday 15/7 for some food on our way through. Great burgers and chips, good selection of ales and larger, London pride IPA on draft nice. 👍
During these Covid times, this has been very worrying for a shielder, but this pub has done everything great, we were sat outside under a marquee and I thought I’d be cold, but a gas heater was out by us, which was very warm and lovely, we had a drink and food, which all was delicious, it was so nice and warm, I was able to take my chunky cardigan off, due to being nice and toastie. The service was great, very polite and friendly, there is an outside bar and the beers were on tap, they do Earl Grey Tea, which I don’t like, so I had water, the good was presented well and was really nice, the atmosphere was great to, not many people and we all had our own table, I was able to be calm and not worry at all. It’s definitely a nice pub and the dogs made it for me, being a dog lover, very friendly and enjoyed a good cuddle.
I love this pub! Fantastic ambience, enjoyed a drink I front of open fire, lovely dog friendly place, huge upstairs resturant and the food was amazing...totally deserve a 5*
Lovely pub and food was excellent buttermilk chicken burger was a absolute beast higher recommend if in the area
had smashing burger and chips. returned for dirty fries day later 👍👅
Absolutely fantastic pub! Proper country pub in the heart of the community, Matt and the team there are absolutely smashing it. We’d been by a few times and noticed it always had a good crowd. Walked in on a Tuesday whilst staying on holiday and we were met with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and the friendliest staff and 3 of the loveliest pub dogs! Great array of drinks and as a brewer and beer nerd, the line up was brilliant, varied and really well kept and conditioned. Immediately booked a table for a meal. The food matched our expectations and then some! (Highly recommend the block burger!) The portions were more than generous and promptly served by more friendly staff and well priced. If there’s one thing I could take back to Sussex from this holiday it would be the white hart ale house, it’s team and its dogs.
Really pleased we dropped in. One of the few places serving food after 8pm. Lovely hostess, great service, beer and food.
