Staying locally on holiday and popped in here for lunch. Sat in the garden, had selection of small plates. Best chicken caesar salad I have had in a long time. Very welcoming staff and extremely good food and very good value.

Really lovely pub. Great beer garden and staff are friendly. Unfortunately we were told the kitchen was closed to any new orders and they wouldn't be serving food until 'maybe the evening'. Given their website says food is served all day, this was quite the disappointment, as it was only just after 1pm.
Excellent Sunday lunch today (our party tried the roast beef, the calamari, and a burger). Many pubs can struggle a bit with Sunday roasts, with tepid and stale roast potatoes, or overcooked meat. Not a bit of it here - all absolutely excellent, with nicely-cooked vegetables, including lovely camarelised baby carrots, parsnips, an excellent cauliflower cheese on the side, etc. Good Yorkshire pudding, too. Very friendly staff and all around good service topped it all off. We'll definitely be back.
Just had an amazing lunch in front of the wood burning fire. Super tasty with a fantastic wine selection and great service from Totty.
Would highly recommend paying them a visit, we can't wait to return.
A great place, despite a lack of local competition. Well staffed with attentive people. I enjoyed the golden and the pale ale. They were very accommodating for a large group. And the beer garden was fantastic. Would strongly recommend.
At last a great local place to eat.
Love the refurbishment, the staff are great and food is 5 stars too.
Best of all our dogs can come with us.

First visit since the new landlords and refurb. A very different pub to what it used to be, but overall I think it's for the better. Staff were friendly and attentive. They have a decent drinks selection including 3 local real ales, plus Aspalls Cider. Food menu is a mixture of small plates at £6 to £8 each, plus large plates at c.£13-15 each. We only wanted a light lunch so had 2 small plates plus some sourdough bread which was more than enough. Both dishes were very tasty and different to usual pub grub. We'll be back to try out other dishes on the menu.
