Serendipity is a friendly and charming tea room. The decor is pretty and colourful vintage. They have a good selection of teas which are served in china cups, also coffees, cocktails and soft drinks. There is a delicious selection of freshly made sandwiches, toasties and jacket potatoes which I have eaten on the many times I have frequented this establishment.

I booked Serendipity for my daughter and her fiancé to celebrate their engagement. We had afternoon tea and June and Robin were wonderful hosts. The food was delicious and the tables were set beautifully. I would thoroughly recommend the beautiful little tea shop to anyone as a venue for a similar special occasion.

Serendipity catered an afternoon tea at our wedding earlier this summer and it was superb. The food was delicious and drew lots of appreciative comments from our guests, and Robin was a pleasure to do business with - professional, friendly and made things very easy for us.
We have no hesitation recommending Serendipity for any event you might be hosting!

Wow. I was just parked in the area and stumbled across what can only be described as the cutest tea shop you have ever seen! Really prompt service and you will never get bored looking around. My new favourite place in Sunderland.

Amazing the food is out of this world and the Malteezer milkshake is heaven as is the others we all tried each others and they are all gorgeous. Service is fantastic whether eating or taking away, the staff are so helpful. Worth everyone of the 5 stars.

A serendipitous surprise!
What a wonderful place! It's beautiful inside, much bigger than it looks from the front, with lots of little trinkets, tucked away in every corner. I could resist a couple of vintage Christmas jumpers or the 'blondie' a white, peanut brownie. Delicious!!
