The coffee is definitely better than the average that I have had in the UK. If you read my other reviews you will say that I am very discerning when it comes to good coffee.

Part of the winter gardens and museum this is a lovely cafe to grab a quick bite to eat. Although the choice of food is limited the cafe itself is lovely with friendly staff and public facilities to suit all.

Table service, so no queuing. Also had soya milk. Perhaps could have a selection of biscuits as opposed to just cakes. Would definitely return.

What a hidden gem this is. Venture to the winter gardens and where most places would have a cookie cutter cafe, Holmeside have thrown out the rulebook and set up a specialty joint in the museum. Great coffee served by passionate and knowledgeable Batistas, cakes and donuts (if you get there on the right day!) galore, and great sandwiches (try the pastrami!). Did I mention wood fired pizzas too?!
