This restaurant is the best in western Mass. We went here for our anniversary and were treated like royalty. The service was amazing, very attentive and surpassed our expectations. The food was outrageously delicious and overall a perfect evening. I highly recommend this place and will be back very soon. Please go here if you have never been, you will fall in love with everything they have to offer and you will not regret it!

This was my first time at the blue heron. The service was good, I had a steak which was perfectly done. The prices are high, but more than worth it.

Best restaurant in Western Ma, hands down. The food is delicious, the staff are wonderful, and the atmosphere is quaint. The food and service is always meticulous.

The Blue Heron is always a treat. The menu is well-considered, the drinks are great, and the staff is accommodating and knowledgeable. Their outdoor dining is a great experience during these strange times in which we live. I often feel anxious going out in public these days, but Blue Heron really made safety and sanitation a painstaking priority, seemingly with no downsides for service.
In regard to the recent one-star review: I was sitting at the table next to the man who wrote it and his family. I can't claim to know everything about their experience, but I can say that I was embarrassed to witness their horrid behavior. While they claim to understand what a terrible time this is for small business, that seems to be mere lip service. I watched them yell and curse at the server for a solid ten minutes--all in front of their child who was imitating them the entire time. It was chilling to watch. Nothing the server did could have possibly warranted that kind of public berating of another human being. Shame on you. We're all feeling the weight of what the world is going through right now. Try raising other people up, not just tearing them down to make you feel in control.
I had the same server. He was truly wonderful. Let me offer some advice to the rude fellow patrons of this establishment, as someone who worked at a nice restaurant: yelling at a server doesn't solve any of your problems. It's just a power play that hurts another human. You heard him say over and over that he has to stick with restaurant policy. Because he does. That's how it works if you are an employee at a restaurant. If you feel you were wronged, call the restaurant later once you've calmed down and talk to someone like a well-behaved adult. State your case to someone who isn't working really hard to manage a large section with many orders on a time crunch. Time, reason, and a level head will almost certainly get you what you want.
Oh, and did I mention the wine list? And the desserts?! Wonderful. What a great place to celebrate an anniversary.
