Masala - Swanage

A relatively small and straightforward family run business, reasonably priced for Swanage and very popular. Tables are very close together so you get to know your fellow diners. Curry, naan and side dishes were all exceptionally good, flavourful and generous. Samosa starter was remarkably small however. Service felt somewhat rushed with a high turnover of people - so not somewhere to linger. A wide ranging menu with many special dishes, so lots of choice.

It’s about the food right? and this how I roll. I order for the family but they barely get a look in. I order fairly hot dishes, give them the meagrest of portions because they’re too small to enjoy (1&4 year old), pile my plate up and then eat the remains for breakfast and lunch the following day! Unfortunately the missus likes it as well, so I begrudgingly share…some! Why? Because I’m an a***hole, but mainly because the food is absolutely lush. I’m not one for sitting in Indian restaurants, but if you’re averse to washing plates and can’t afford a dishwasher then it’s the same as most; comfy. It’s been here years with the same family owners which tells a story, it’s evidently great scran. Subjectively, it’s a winner (that’s my review, now I expect freebies galore 🤨). Don’t think they deliver, but it’s bang centre of town anyway.
