Honestly this place is my favourite place! We tried our first carvery here today (we usually come for a normal lunch service) and it was INCREDIBLE! The meat was so juicy yet soft and melted in my mouth! The server we had (Megan) was so attentive and made sure all our needs were met with politeness and friendliness! The staff here are amazing, so polite, friendly and give off a lovely caring vibe! Will never go anywhere else for our carvery’s now! The best food I have ever eaten. The whole vibe of this place is immaculate too! (It’s also pet friendly😍) and thank you guys so much for letting us take our meat home for our puppies! They’ll very much enjoy it too! Can’t wait to come back❤️
Had a surprise birthday party here on Saturday 21st October. The staff were great, we were well looked after. Great food, great atmosphere. Big thanks to the management for their help, special mentions to Beth, Iola & Megan. Not forgetting the chefs. Perfection.
Well this place is a little gem pope's in once for some food and returned twice a week ever since, the food is outstanding all locally sourced and they use products from their own farm ie lamb ect. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful the interior is extremely clean and is now mine and my wifes favourite place to dine out. I would highly highly recommend the bird in hand to anyone looking for a place to visit.
Absolutely stunning food at The Bird in Hand, we both had the boar burger and it was so delicious, the chips were so tasty, it was very busy when we went, it goes to show the popularity of the place! The staff were very friendly, we also attended the Sunday evening pub quiz which was great fun! I would definitely come back here again for food!
Wanted to say how much we enjoyed the Sunday dinner. It was extremely busy there but the service was still impeccable. Wanted to say a special thank you to the bearded chef on carvery who literally couldn't do enough to ensure great service despite all the demands he was facing.
Well done Bird in hand you seemed to have mastered the art of carvery quick turn around with quality and efficiency.
The only negative was just how busy it was, which wasn't a problem as far as service and good food was concerned, just for me the volume of people there!

Lovely welcome and good service, on a very busy day. Carvery is excellent and it is well worth the supplement to have the lamb from their very own farm. Will definitely return to try the rest of the menu. Book ahead, this place is very popular.
My first time visiting here
Had a lovely meal to celebrate a friends 50th birthday. Poppy our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Food was spot on. The chocolate fudge cake was amazing. Will definitely be back.

Visited the Bird in Hand last night for a Christmas meal from their seasonal menu. Brilliant food, absolutely outstanding menu with trimmings included. Plenty of meat on the plate, big Yorkshires, all the gravy you need, extra veg, cauliflower cheese. I could go on and on.
Brilliant drinks variety from teas to lagers to ciders on draught, served by professional bar staff.
The service was brilliant, our waitress kept us up to date on the status of our food as they accommodated our party of 13 which is not an easy feat.
The atmosphere in the Bird in Hand is second to none. Exactly the kind of bar you want to be sat in with a pint. The drinks are flowing and laughs are echoing through the rooms, next to a lovely log fire with music playing in the background.
Ask them about the free taxi service, where they can meet you at a spot for pickup. The most convenient and straight forward part of the whole night!
In an economy where running this kind of establishment is getting harder and harder to do, I'd say they've nailed it. I'd recommend this pub to anyone. 5⭐ 👏
Stopped at this pub for lunch today by chance, on our way to Carmarthen. It's smart and tidy with nice decor inside, pleasant ambiance and dog friendly too. It has a restaurant section, bar and snug. Lovely welcome and service. Large menu, with lots of home made options. I had the veggie sausages, mash, veg and onion gravy. Delicious! And too much mash to finish! My friend had the home made vegan burger topped with bbq pulled jack fruit. I tried a bit and it was soooo tasty. He said its the best vegan burger he's ever had! Really glad we found it and would highly recommend!
I went to my surprise birthday party there yesterday afternoon, after not having been there for a number of years and was very impressed with what the new owner has done with the place. The interior is well decorated and welcoming, the staff are well presented, polite and attentive, the food service was prompt, correct and the quality of the food was great. Overall a great experience, and they used their shuttle service to take us locally to save us a walk. I honestly couldn't fault it and would highly recommend a visit, I myself plan to go again soon.
