Review The Boat House Cafe - Swanwick

The little takeaway coffee cart outside Paddle is a really nice place to stop off before and after a walk with brilliant view of the marina. They have tables and chairs you can either sit and relax or takeaway. The prices are good and affordable. The honeycomb tiffin was amazing, and for only £2 it was a bargain. The lady serving was very polite and friendly. Get there in good time so you don’t miss out on the tiffin!

Great place. We were took to this place while visiting family in Curdridge. What a fantastic setting this place has. Right on the Marina. The food is really good with a varied choice on the menu, there will be something you like. The first time we went we just went for a coffee and liked it because they had Oat milk which was a bonus. We went back and had lunch which we really enjoyed. Service was good and quick. Cannot fault the place and will be going back again next time we are down south.

Food was lovely but staff seemed disorganised and confused. No one around to ask for the bill when we finished. Went up to the bar and was ignored by a man at the till for a good 5 minutes. He moaned about our table not being input on the system and then charged me more than I was expecting. I questioned it and he just said that's the price. I will come back in the summer as it's a lovely location and the food was great. Hopefully the staff was just having a bad day.

Lovely hidden spot off the main road, with tasty food and beautiful views! I've come here for coffee, lunch and dinner and each time the food/service have been top notch. We came for one of their 'vegan nights' back in Feb (highly recommend!) Overlooking the water, its a beautiful spot come rain or shine! We're planning on coming back this month for one of their summer weekend evenings with live music, can't wait!

Great place to sit and eat with friends and family. I like being close to the water and if the sun is out that's even better

The location of this bar/restaurant is beautiful right in the marina. The menu is good and varied. The food tastes lovely and is served promptly. Once seated outside it took a while for someone to take our drinks order, after 10 mins I called someone over. There was a further wait of 10 mins for drinks to arrive as there was a queue at the bar. This didn't matter too much as once our drinks arrived the food came out too.

This is my second time at the boat house cafe. I have to say that the food is really yummy. I had the ale marinated butchers steak with House Seasoned Fries, Onion Rings, Dressed Leaves with the butter sauce. I enjoyed every bit of it that I cleared my plate! There is parking right outside the cafe. There is outdoor seating as well with great views. Overall, it was a great experience on both visits.

We visited on a Saturday evening. There was a live DJ which really added to the atmosphere. We both ordered lobster roll, which was okay, unfortunately lacking in the lobster. Wouldn’t order again but I am aware they offer other tasty dishes.

It was very busy, we had coffee very nice, if you park you have to use app for car reg, put me off a bit, service, excellent in all a very popular place, good to see all the different boats, and sit near the water.

Lovely place to chill by the water. Dog friendly, and if the lemon drizzle slide is to go by the other cakes and cook food should be really good.

Love visiting this cafe on the marina. Was introduced to it last year and now visit at any opportunity. It is my venue of choice to meet clients for my consultancy business. Thoroughly enjoyed a full English breakfast this morning - great service, wonderful food and lovely surroundings. Well done Boathouse Cafe for providing such a great experience.

Boat house food and service can be a bit unpredictable but was excellent for our group on a warm day. Very good choice for veggies and gluten free.

It was my first (and only) visit this morning with my 8 year old son for breakfast. My son ordered the pancakes. I assumed these would be cooked fresh (pancake batter only has 4 basic ingredients!) but he was served stale pancakes that were mouldy! Yes actual mould growing on the food that was served to him!! I only noticed it after he had eaten 2 of them! I sent them back. Got a mutter of an apology from the waiter (under his breath). Got another breakfast brought out. Pancakes still felt pretty stale around the edges but no mould but by this point my son was well and truly put off! No offer of a refund or even a complimentary coffee. When I order another orange for my son - a hot chocolate turned up! We had interaction with about 4 staff members in total serving and clearing our table and although pleasant not one asked how our meal was or if everything was OK.

Went for afternoon tea. Only negative was tea wasn't served in a teapot which is the norm. It was a mug of tea. sandwiches and cakes came in a wooden box not a cake stand. Sort of takes the novelty away from afternoon tea really. Plus side though. Sandwiches and cakes were delicious. Tea/coffee was unlimited Not bad price either £10 per person or £15 with a glass of prosecco

Had lunch today, slight confusion on the order, brilliantly dealt with by the assistant manager. Great time, great food, great location can't wait to come back. You learn a more about how professional a place when things don't go perfectly, the staff were perfectly professional. Highly recommend

We've become regulars for breakfast and this mornings breakfast was the best - really lovely!

We were there on Friday night it was very busy but a great atmosphere. The service was slow but it didn't matter to us. The food was lovely when it arrived no complaints there But I was disappointed that they didn't have any Rose wine, hard to believe on a Friday night!!

Great food the head chef Phil and his team have really raised the bar. Front of house are so organised and attentive especially considering how busy it gets and how inpatient people can be. Keep it up team Bhouse
