Great atmosphere in this pub. We I didn't have a booking for Friday night, but I still got a table. Great tasty food, speedy service, and reasonable prices. Strawberry parfait was just heavenly tasty. Lovely interior and dog friendly 😀 👍
We rocked up without reservations on Sunday, late afternoon. We were greeted and the host checked the reservation list to see if there were any gaps that we could possibly fit into. No luck, however, we were told that if there was room outside on the patio we could take our chances, given the rainy
Excellent from start to finish it was our sons birthday 🎂 🥳 and it was his choice... WOTTA CALL.... the food was amazing (and I am an ex chef) so trust me if was below my expectations they would not be getting thus review.... however that was not the case the whole experience from the food to the se
I’ve driven past this pub on my way from Swindon to Marlborough many times over the past 20 years but for some reason or other had never gone in. Today however I went in with my wife and am now kicking myself for not trying it earlier. As this was Monday midday I didn’t have a reservation and in fac
Food and staff were nice. Not had fagots for years but local butcher's ones, Champ and red cabbage were lovely.
Had the best meal ever tonight! The bacon & maple syrup scotch egg was just amazing, so flavoursome! & the T-bone was super tasty too. Great service as always.
What a surprise! I expected it to be bog standard but the food was incredible. Nicely busy, dogs welcome, perfect food - what more could you want
Great menu choices including vegetarian and vegan options. Some creative choices including a range of specials. Delicious food. Friendly service. Dog friendly. Toilet kept clean. Parking adjacent. I really like this place!
Portion sizes were good. The potatoes were not perfectly cooked, but still edible. The meat was tender, the gravy was good. The cauli cheese and veg was honestly too much for two people, despite being delicious, so sadly much went uneaten. The ambience and setting is quaint, dogs are welcome and the
Went to this restaurant because it had a high rating which it fully deserves. Very friendly service, good menu and delicious food. Chocolate and orange tart is de-lish.
Fantastic piece of engineering, lifting two 50+ ton barges at a time 35' using only £1 of electric using Arcimedes principle and 2 water filled gondolas in balance.
Exceptional! Enjoyed a family lunch for 7 (6 adults 1 kid) to celebrate mums 80th - we treated her to her first T-bone, half of which she took home for supper nibbling, my partner and I had Lamb rump with the most amazing potato terrine, brother had “the best” burger and chips, daughter had the Fish
We turned up without a booking on our way back from holiday but they fitted us in. What a great find! Lovely little pub. Great quality, delicious food and really friendly welcoming staff. Exceptional.
Slight problem with the veggie pie being overcooked but this was removed promptly and a replacement produced in a short time which was fine. Other meals were all great! Excellent service. Lovely bar. Will return!!
Lovely surprise. We ended up there when local pubs weren't serving Monday dinner. Several larger tables for bigger groups. Kid burger portions were very big. Mac n cheese was good. Adult meals were great. We had the halibut, veg masala, duck pate, and soup special. Seems a very good local option, or
We have driven past the places many times over the years. Unfortunately we've always been towing and unable to stop. This weekend we were going for a short break and set a time of 7pm to stop for food. We pulled up at 7 and this place was just what the doctor ordered. Great food, roast dinner on a S
Met up with two friends for breakfast, after a dog walk this morning. Excellent food, service and surroundings. We sampled both the English and vegetarian breakfasts and can’t fault them. We will definitely be back!
Stopped in for some lunch recently whilst travelling to Gloucester. Excellent menu with the additional special menu on display. A lot of character and very warm welcome given. Very reasonably priced. Plenty of parking and easily accessible. Small outside area however not used due to November weather
Lovely pub with friendly staff and great food, but.... please don't put salt on the chips! Some of us would prefer to add our own.
