Have never had a bad meal there, everything has always been excellent & top standards...I do think the management could do with some people skills & a smile But other than that our service has always been top notch!...a great place to even go just for a drink...& it's always fairly busy, now that's what proves it to be a good place....
Popped in on the off chance for Sunday lunch after Christmas shopping in town. I had the pork, OH had the beef. We were not disappointed. The meat was tender - lovely piece of crackling with the pork. The roasties were fabulous, and the veggies could have fed three. And a nice touch - there was a jug of extra gravy, something that other pubs and restaurants could do but don't. All together a very good Sunday lunch - OH said it was one of the best he's had outside of home.
Amazing food. Really enjoyed the Himalayan menu. Very fast service, looks like it is currently being refurbished. I would highly recommend.
We came here for food for the first time 2 weeks ago and we were surprised to find a Himalayan menu. The food was delicious. I am not big fan of spicy food so this says a lot. Today we went again and we were not disappointed. Really happy with the food. There is a play area for little ones and the river running through keeps them interested and entertained. Lovely atmosphere and great outside spaces, in the garden and on the covered terrace. Some of the staff need a bit more training and courtesy. But we will definitely be coming back again 🤩🤩😋
Visited Swindon just for the day, and had lunch at The Runner pub. Very nice large airy pub, big garden area with outdoor seating and children's play area. There's even a small river running through the grounds. Big car park. Toilets very clean. Staff were all very friendly and efficient. Sam and Cindy served us and were lovely. Thoroughly, enjoyed our meal, and the local Arkells beer was great. Will definitely return.
The runner is a lovely quiet pub. The staff are lovely and the food has definitely come on. So much choice and the starters are to die for. We love going over there.
Hidden gem of a pub, friendly staff great food with large portions and the prices were good as well, all the family loved it. The kids really enjoyed the play park and the little stream made it feel comfy and refreshing place to be and relax 😁
The food was good, although certain items were a little spicier than anticipated with no warning. (The meat platter sharer specifically) Luckily, I love spice, but I did feel the kick, and my little one was unable to eat any of it.
Our table really enjoyed their steak and the burger.
Although the restaurant was busy, our food arrived relatively quickly.
The pub and the garden itself are lovely with a nice play area for kids and a little stream. Particularly lovely on warmer days.
Pricing is reasonable, and the menu is unique for a pub setting (traditional British as well as Himalayan)
Our server was efficient but not necessarily friendly.
All round- Good experience, reasonably priced and although a few niggles, we would likely return.
Went for a quick lunch on a Sunday. It's a properly dog friendly pub, well behaved pups under almost every table. We ate inside. The food was delicious, and a good price, and service was friendly and prompt. Will definitely go again
Lovely welcome with friendly staff, a really pleasant atmosphere, and I was expecting my Himalayan Mix Veg Curry to be good, but it was GOOD!
Definitely worth a visit if you've not been for a while, or you've never tried it before.
Had a family meal here for my step sons birthday, there was 12 of us including children and we were very well accommodated for. Food was lovely and was reasonably priced as well as the drinks, service was excellent and quick considering how busy it was. The best part it has a lovely little garden with a stream running alongside it and it also has a children's play area where we sat and enjoyed some drinks after our meal. All in all great place with a lovely atmosphere where we will certainly be returning soon.
Had a family meal here and I cannot fault a single thing. The starters we're all absolutely georgous and the mains were truly divine and all of thoroughly enjoyed even those of us who don't really like too much space .
The flavours and quality of the food produced cannot be faulted and I cannot recommend this place enough . I personally had the butter chicken and was blown away I have eaten this dish many times but this was by far my favourite it had a beautiful texture with massive chunks of chicken and the most divine sauce that was creamy and thick with a lovely kick of chilli to it . The naan breads are next level and accompany the meal so well they're light and fluffy without over filling .
The service was brilliant and nothing was too much for them out waiter was outstanding and very approachable and even went and got a little bowl of orange slices for our almost 2 year old toddler.
All in all brilliant place to eat would definitely return here in the future.
