Good pub, landlord was accommodating, normally close at 9 on a sunday, but stayed open for second half of rugby as pub was busy

I'd not been here before but wanted somewhere central for a meet up with a couple of friends. I couldn't be more happy with everything. Great cozy atmosphere, really nice decor, our waiter was Ryan and he was just lovely, perfect amount of attentiveness without being too much. The food was gorgeous, we all ordered different things and all were fabulous. Particularly recommend the oysters, scallops and hake. Great night all round, will be back very soon 😊

Dinner with friends on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant was busy and noisy with chat. However, the waitress was extremely friendly and took our order in a timely fashion. The food was nice and we all enjoyed our visit although the noise level from the table close to us could have been turned down, not the fault of restaurant.

Wow!!!! Dan and the team, put on an amazing party night for my other half Russell to celebrate his 60th birthday, over 100 guests with a zoned area and we partied all night long!
Fab DJ, amazing service from the bar team and nothing was too much trouble. A huge thank you to Ryan, Toby, Finn and James for keeping our friends glasses topped up and a great job too from the Food Crew who we asked to get involved with feeding our guests with a steady stream of delicious pizzas.
It's five stars from us!!!
This is our local.... we wouldn't have gone anywhere else because we knew we were in the safest of hands! Cheers to The Royal Oak!!!!

The staff were so attentive and friendly. They went over and beyond to please us. It was my friends birthday and we had a great time. The food was amazing . The place was spotless. I would recommend this place for just drinks or a lovely meal. Either way, you will be treated very well. The owner has got this just right. I would go back in a heartbeat. Always great drinks, service and atmosphere at the bar. Lovely food in the restaurant and lovely Sunday roasts too. The crab linguine on the two-4-twentytwo menu is delicious 👍✨
