Great family friendly place to eat. My family enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Good service and helpful staff. Quality food at reasonable prices. Will be back and would recommend.
Once again we arrived with our motorhome and we were welcomed, fed, watered and enternained with live music and looked after by incredible staff. Overnight stay for motorhome was free. Incredible hospitality despite the majority of staff, hosts, attending a local wedding that night.
Love the place......
Excellent food - excellent staff. I've seen some reviews saying rather pricey, not exactly fighting for compitition but I've seen dearer. Had the potato and leek soup, good hearty little dish and the legendary steak pie - chips and pastry were little overdone but steak melted in your mouth and there was alot of it. Shame it wasn't very busy to see what kind of atmosphere it can have.
Visited here courtesy of pick up drop of service, thanks Robert. Was greeted on arrival, homely scottish feel very relaxed. Could have easily worked my way through menu but opted for the vennison burger, their special on Wednesday. Was gorgeous, son had rack of ribs he enjoyed them too. Extra bonus of live music which we really enjoyed. Paid the bill and our chauffeur was summoned to get us back to Loch Lomond holiday park, great service and I could enjoy my vodka. Will definitely be back if up in Loch Lomond.
Great local fish served with a lovely warm atmosphere. The staff were extemely welcoming and would recommend this as a good place to eat and soak up the live music. Keep up the good work guys 👌

Super good food, super cozy place, recommend it to anybody in the region! Being in an old church gives it an interesting vibe
1st visit in our campervan on Friday! Delicious food, dog friendly & outstanding service from our friendly young waiter! Bonus of entertainment that night, too!
What a brilliant place ! We had the best of welcomes so friendly and such a lovely feel to the place. We phoned ahead and arrived to have few drinks in bar, dogs were made welcome and fresh water provided. Had a really lovely meal in the evening with bottle of red and some really friendly and very funny chats with the owner he really is a very interesting and knowledgeable man. If you're hungry in the morning they do breakfasts we had just toast but witnessed a full highland breakfast being served not for the feint hearted. !! Thank you Slanj bar hope to see you all again xx
Wonderful food, excellent service and everything cooked to order. No rushing around, given plenty of time to enjoy your meal. Would highly recommend it.
Had a great meal at the Slanj yesterday. We were looking for somewhere to eat before we had a cruise on Loch Lomond, and luckily we found The Slanj! Service was absolutely great and the pizza’s were out of this world - incredible!
Last week I was here for dinner with my boyfriend, we had a great time and we had a lot of fun with the live concert. Great food and excellent beers, the place is very traditional and beautiful, I really enjoyed it. The staff was nice and kind to us. If one day I will return to the beautiful Scotland I will come back here too!
Stayed over Friday night in motorhome went in for drink first in afternoon the young lad wearing his kilt went out of his way to make us feel welcome showing us map of walks for dog his excellent service continued at night he really made our stay
Lovely fresh food that is clearly using local produce and goods. Expertly prepared and presented, no complaints. Has dog menu also with 2 or 3 options for the pooches and the dogs are allowed inside at your table with you as long as well behaved. Reasonable kids menu as well.
Would recommend to anyone in the loch lomond area as its easily accessible and provides you with a place to eat out if your in a lodge or caravan to save you cooking all time while your on holiday.
Lovely family-run restaurant situated in an old church. Do get the fish & chips, the cullen skink and the ice-cream! Service was really friendly. I also love how dog-friendly this place is.
We found this place close to our hotel and decided to give it a shot. It is situated in an old church and has a cool atmosphere. Our table enjoyed a couple of appetizers and all six of us ordered the steak pie which was very good. Great friendly staff as well!
Visited this restaurant with some friends when we were staying in Loch lomond holiday park. We hadn't made a reservation but managed to get a table for the five of us. I ordered the Balmoral chicken which was smothered in a delicious whiskey sauce, my wife had the chicken burger with chunky chips, my friends had the steak pie, fish and chips and spinach burger. Food was delicious and staff were very welcoming and friendly. Prices were very reasonable and our bill came to just over £100 including the five drinks. Highly recommended if you are staying in the area.
An old church gives home to the Slanj and once you’re inside the experience keeps being special. In a very positive way of course. Food, service and location are just awesome and not at all overpriced.
Come here after a nice hike at Loch Lomond.
Bring your dog. They’re welcomed just you are. There’s even a dog menu 😀
This is one of those hidden gems you find on the road (okay not hidden but not exactly at the centre of a village etc). The food was simple but exceptional. I enjoyed some good old Scottish Cullen Skink(smoked fish soup). The steak pie was rich and tender, incredibly filling. They had vegan options, which were as good, as the main fare offered. Proof was certainly in the pudding too. I also had a pint of the Slanji Stout, very smooth and easy to drink. I'd go back in a heartbeat. If to your seeking a meal and passing through Tarbet then definitely consider.
Just recently returned to Arrochar after working with an Agency and returned to work again and it's my first time in this Amazing place..
I have worked in hospitality for 22 years and I always grade a place when I get a chance! ..
You definitely serve a Good Pint and I will definitely be returning..
I gave no stars for food as I never ordered anything..
But I will be returning to try your Menu..

Great place, good food, friendly staff and a unique atmosphere! Staff gave us a brief history of the old church and explained how it ended up as a bar. Highly recommended!
We’d also recommend exploring the old graveyard behind the church. Atmospheric place with some old graves, some dating back as far as the 1730’s.
Only had drinks, but the food coming out from the kitchen looked lovely.
Nice friendly lass behind the bar.
Stopped off for a bite to eat, mid afternoon. The staff were very welcoming and the food, cooked to order, was excellent. Dog friendly and very clean establishment. We also noticed that they had free parking for upto 5 Campervans.
Delicious food and lovely friendly staff. Can have nice meals or coffee & cake. Very dog friendly and they have a dog menu 🐶🥰
Went there without a reservation, but had to come back because the place was fully packed. Happy we did so and not choose a different place.
The staff was super friendly. Appreciated the question for food allergies. Drinks and food was really good. Vegetarian and vegan options available.
Great food and service in such a lovely setting, so nice to have such a dog friendly place and feel comfortable. Our dog had her own meal and was very happy. Would definitely recommend and will return next time we're in the area.
The recommended cream of broccoli soup did not disappoint.
BLT was similarly excellent.
Lovely pint of Arrochar Alps Lager.
Not only dog friendly, but they have a menu for dogs.
Great place. Lovely young lady served me. Great chips and a super falafel burger. Great chips...did I say that already! 😅🍟
Food was stunning. Haggis Pakoras are amazing, the beef in the pie just fell apart and the cheesecake lovely.
Staff all friendly, plenty of parking and the building itself is impressive. It was nearly full when we were there but the tables are all well spaced.
If you're in the area well worth a visit.
2 adults, 5 dishes and a good NZ white £75. Superb value.
Stayed nearby and booked Slanj for dinner the night before coming home. The menu looked to be typical pub grub so we were pleasantly surprised when it was really good. We had the haddock burger and Cumberland sausage and mash both of which we enjoyed. Portions were just right so we could manage a pudding. They made my two dogs very welcome too.
Nice food and dog friendly, there is a dog menu that not many restaurants provide.
