The Mango Tree

Great restaurant in the centre of Taunton. The food was really good and tasty. The salmon sandwich was amazing, with soft cream cheese and leaves with the bread slightly warm and crunchy. The chicken breast had the perfect combination with the peppers and the mushroom and brocoli sauce. The dessert was ok but not outstanding as it was the other 2 dishes. There is also mexican food as well in the menu. The man was very nice, he is alone at least today in the service part, so really made a big effort to bring all the food on time. The toilets are very clean and the atmosphere is relaxing with some classic music. Place really recommended.

Small but cosy place in Taunton city centre. It doesn’t look amazing from outside but it gets better once you go in. We had the chicken and smoked salmon. My chicken was really tasty and presented on top of a mixture of potato and bacon. Great presentation but just one waiter is maybe not enough for a busy Saturday like today. Mille foulle for dessert was a bit disappointing. A good place overall but maybe the current 4.9 is an excessive rating.

We ate here earlier today and it was really tasty! We shared some vegetable tempura which I think may be the best I've ever had (and it came with two delicious dips), and then I also had the jackfruit burger. The menu was huge and not only was it all vegan, 99% of it seemed to also be either naturally gluten free, or was available to be made gluten free, so a great place for celiacs to eat too! A lovely little place with great food, would definitely recommend. I would advise possibly booking a table, we went on a Sunday at 1 and by 1:30 I don't think there was a free table there, so if you're planning in advance, book yourself a table. I believe they also do take away though so even if you did turn up on the day and were full, I'm sure they'd still be able to accommodate!

Where do I start. Great service and great food. We had the Tagine, Club Sandwich, and Jackfruit pesto pasta with sides of sweet potato fries, wasabi mayo, and sticky tofu. Every single dish was loved by each of us. THIS IS NOT STUFF YOU CAN COOK AT HOME!! The sweet potato fries were crispy, which no other restaurant can seem to do; the tofu likewise. Sandwich was a great combo of ingredients and a decent size. The tagine was one of the best I've had and had a great balance of sweetness. The pasta isn't just pesto but nice chunks of sticky jackfruit with penne. I cannot rate this highly enough and my only complaint is I wish it was larger. The drinks were great as well and they take dogs... Couldn't ask for more.

Recommended by a friend and others wanting to visit, I decided to host a meal event and it was an absolute delight and have no regrets.. From this evenings success.. I highly advise.. whether a quick healthy drink, an afternoon snack or an evening meal, business or pleasure, a meal date, small group or ability to cater for larger group 18-20 people From the moment I first contacted the Mango Tree team last week , to the time we left the restaurant this evening always polite and lovely welcome and great communication via email and checking how the food with recommendations. Originally wanting to book a table for 10 and unfortunately due to change of plans only six were able to attend no problem, or issue and accomadated with ease.. Lovely selection on the menu and are able to cater for specific dietary requirements or preferences.. Many thanks and will be back! Advise strongly to book!
