Reviews Imperial China Restaurant

Despite it being a pretty hectic lunchtime service, I was fairly impressed by Imperial China. The dim sum was delicious, especially the lotus leaf steamed rice. I would have liked the standard condiment of sesame sauce with the plain cheung fun but this is a minor point - it's definitely worth a visit and good value at around £12 per head

We arrived on a Saturday night to what was already a brimming restaurant. With plenty of customers the place was buzzing and the staff were courteous. Seated at our table we were offered the set and a-la-carte- menus. Green tea seemed to be the go for apperitif, which, although I enjoy a glass of wine with my meal, proved to be refreshing and cleansing, to say nothing of my clear head the morning after (a new experience). We selected the set menu and waited for the food with baited breath.

I came here on a Saturday night with some friends from China. The place was buzzing and no surprise, this restaurant is well known in the borough for great, authentic Chinese food.
We had the set menu although an a-la-carte is available. We enjoyed a veritable feast, the dishes are a generous size and there was plenty to choose from in fact we ran out of room on the table.
If you're looking to come here I would definitely book as there is usually a line out of the door of those who haven't had the forethought to make a reservation.
A special mention should be made of the lunch menu too. I have been here for the dumplings on the weekends and there are many of these tasty morsels to choose from. And, just in case it's your thing, there is a karaoke room out the back which you can book for a party of up to 30.

I would definitely recommend this for authentic chinese cuisines! The foods are delicious and great flavours. Dim-sum is though not the best! Fried options are better here than the dim-sum. We ordered Fujian fried rice which was very good. Compared to other dim-sum restaurants, it is a bit high on the price. But overall, it is a nice and authentic restaurant around the area.

Yum cha for several times. Authentic flavors of the dim sum. It’s one of the best dim sum restaurants around these areas:) However, 1.5 hours only for enjoying the dim sum during lunch time. You may need to order the food once sitting down or the staff may keep asking you.

Quite authentic Cantonese food. Most of the dishes are good, but the Crispy chicken is not that crispy and disappointing.

A branch of the Imperial China in London’s China Town. Nice to have one in Teddington serving the same great quality food. Really great place for dim sum. Everything tasted very delicious and freshly made. Tried many dishes such as soup pork dumplings, chicken claw in black bean and chilli, steamed spare ribs in black bean and chilli, char siu bau, fried beef ho fun noodles, stir fried morning glory and other dishes which were all very good. Fast and efficient service. Not cheap but authentic Chinese food.

This is one of my favourite Chinese restaurants because I can always get the best seafood dishes from them. Knowing the restaurant owner of course really helps. An authentic anglicised Cantonese food, it has become a dying breed these days. The food is very solid and hence it can stand the test of time. They have a huge menu and seafood to choose from. They also do corkage and let me bring my own wine to the restaurant. Food 9/10, ambience 8.5/10, service 8/10, value for money 8/10. This is a real gem and a Chinese restaurant I and my friends would travel all the way to Teddington to enjoy our dinner.

What a gem! Absolutely loved the experience of eating at this restaurant and the food is delicious! It’s very authentic. The dim sum are a must to try! Better to come with a group of people to be able to taste lots of different dishes

Noisy...bustling and the food was too spicy (chilies) in all of our ordered dishes..I’ve just come back from a visit to London and we went again to this restaurant. Maybe it was because it was lunchtime but all the same a big improvement hence the 5 stars! Dim sum 🥟 has to be the best I’ve had the chillies 🌶️ were absent too 🙏🏻 and you know if the local’s eat there it’s a good sign…

I am not a fan of yum cha. But this place gave me a positive surprise. The food was full of flavours because it was freshly made; its ingredients were genuine and substantial, better than many restaurants in Hong Kong. But the booking time slots were very strict on the weekends. And you cannot stay more than 90 mins. Besides, they accept cash only.

Easily the best Chinese restaurant in the Teddington to Kingston area that I found so far. The dishes are almost all cooked to perfection and served quickly with minimal fuss. The noodles and dim sum are all excellent by London standards (with the possible exception of the Xio Long Bao which are a tad too thick). Reservation is an absolute must as the restaurant gets very busy due to its popularity. It's a tad pricey, but the quality and overall experience are worth it. Highly recommended in the area.

Wonderful dim sum, high quality and perfectly fresh, cooked and executed. A bit pricey - probably 1.7x of London Chinatown prices, but obviously convenient for those that live close to the area. Do yourself a favour and order the salted egg custard buns

My favourite Chinese **Amazing food** I love this restaurant. My husband and I sometimes eat in however every Friday we visit and get a take away. First the people are lovely and friendly. We order hor d oeuvres. So the salt and pepper squid is so fresh and tasty. Good quality food. Usually I dislike spring rolls in all Chinese places but the spring rolls are obviously hand crafted. They and mushroom and the most amazing flavours. So addictive. My husband says I’m a creature of habit but only if it’s as good as Imperial china’s food. So main course we have fillet beef and asparagus. Again amazing cooked to perfection. Perfect succulent beef and large thick tender asparagus. If I had one negative thing to say I’d like a bit more in the portion size for the money. They give free prawn crackers to us and chilli oil. Try it You will love it!

I had a great experience at this restaurant. Food was nice, it was set out beautifully and so were the drinks. Not a wide variety of soft drinks (coke, etc.) though. The staff were nice but slightly unprofessional as they gave my friend apple juice when she ordered pineapple juice. The staff also gave a lot of services including pouring the drinks in cups for us, sliced the crispy aroma duck for us, etc. The decoration was nice, but there was only 1 different wallpaper on the walls. Overall, this is a good place to eat but not the best.

Always a great meal and so reassuringly busy with local residents and large Chinese families. A family favourite of ours for many years and now I recommend it to my Airbnb guests. Kudos to Imperial China. A must to order is the Sticky Beef (in a noodle basket) as well as any of their Sizzling Delicacies. Also ask about their rose infused liquor, it kicks a punch!
