The Ugly Duckling has become our main restaurant after moving to this lovely area 17 months ago! The food is delicious and the atmosphere in the bar area is nice too if your just looking to have a drink or a nice cocktail on the patio!, I can recommend the tempura cod as a starter or if your into steaks, my fillet steak last night was cooked to perfection! Unfortunately I had no room for dessert! The service was good too!

Myself and hubby stayed for a couple of days in May. What a fabulous place to stay. The room was very clean the staff very friendly and the service was exceptional. The price for the room was very good and the breakfast was fab. I would definitely recommend to a friend and would stay again myself.

Took our daughter out for a 30th meal at The Ugly Duckling. Lovely location in the Shropshire countryside. The staff were all brilliant and the food well cooked and presented. Very good portions and full of flavour. Can't wait to go back in the future. We didn't stay there so can't comment about the rooms.

Back to one of our favourite local places for a Friday evening dinner lately with our daughters. After a couple of hiccups of late - they are back on track with good food, presentation & better service. There is always a good selection of drinks & the place is popular whenever we visit. Food choices were good & tasty. We like the idea of sharing small plates as starters & followed by mains.

Lovely food and good service. I highly recommend it. It was the best Sunday lunch we had in a long time

6 of us dined here on a Thursday evening, arriving at 6:15. We had one of the dining areas almost to ourselves, for the first 20 minutes, until other (somewhat noisy) guests arrived and when we left at 8:20 the dining areas were full and buzzing. I ate bbq lamb rump, and thought it was excellent, followed by sticky toffee pudding. Negatives: my son's first pint of Doombar had to be returned, and replaced. Table top was a bit sticky.

Visited the restaurant not the hotel. The food was pretty decent. Service is a mixed bag. Some waiters are super helpful and friendly and some are rather miserable. It's very expensive for what it is but the food was quite nice. Wouldn't necessarily go again but nice to go once.

been here a number of times over the years and have to say, it remains consistently good! would particularly recommend visiting for the three course sunday roast which is delicious and great value for money considering the price increases in most places currently! :)

Stopped for brunch. The restaurant looked very nice outside and in. Ordered the English breakfast and was quite surprised when it arrived. A big breakfast! The coffee was ok too. The only let down for me was the music/noise. Ghastly repetitive drum beats which I eventually asked if they could put on something musical before I went crazy! The follow up wasn't much better really. Yes I know. I'm old. But in mixed age restaurants surely something more general and easy listening would be more suitable. Club music doesn't fit the bill. The service was ok but a little cold and impersonable.

Went for lunch with a friend, I hadn't been for years, it had certainly changed since my last visit and I wasn't dissapointed. It had certainly been updated tastefully and the food (we had fish and chips) was lovely. We will definitely be back.

Having not been to this pub before we were absolutely over the moon with our first visit and will definitely be back! The whole experience was seamless, we took part in the Bottomless Brunch. The food was exemplary and served by two waiters who made us feel like nothing was too much trouble.(Josh and George) Julie the Manager was in complete control of all of her team and it is evident she runs a very well organised establishment. Well done everyone, keep up the good work, we will be spreading the word and can't wait for the outside area to open which I understand is next week,
