Everything was cooked to perfection and the price was more than reasonable. Me and the Mrs enjoyed every bit of it and have booked a table for 8 next week
Yet again Martin excels himself!!! Superb food as always served with a chat and a smile. An an amazing chef. Always eat here when we visit The Place at Oakengates. Only wish it was closer as it’s a 30 mile trip to get here. Regardless of how good the show is the food is worth the visit every time.

For the past few weeks they have started doing breakfast here and we love it! My partner works nights so this on an early morning is a god send as she wants to go straight to bed after a tasty breakfast with no washing up! This has a separate indoor and outdoor seating area to eat from the main bar. A lovely place with lovely staff! Great value for money!
Decent meal and good value for money. Table service initially somewhat slow and me being 62, with my 86 year old mother perhaps not the best people to be referred to as 'guys'.
Super yummy Sunday roast with a generous portion of vegetables and a gravy boat to share between 2 people.
I love that you can choose between pork, beef, lamb, all three, or combinations of two meats 🍖🥩🐑

Have visited twice now, once for a Sunday lunch and once on a Saturday for lunch with their main menu, both times as a couple. The food is superb - honestly, this place is an absolute gem. Don't expect fancy or modern decor, this is a typical local pub, but it's clean and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Sunday was a nicer atmosphere, families and elderly couples, whereas the Saturday was less welcoming being quite full around the bar with football fans (and the language that goes with that!) Had I been with my children I would have been really disappointed and uncomfortable but as it was only adults I didn't mind so much and could mostly ignore it. Plus the food makes it worth while! A steak cooked to perfection, all the sides piping hot and fresh and the presentation of the starters is lovely. The Sunday roast was superb, with the best stilton and broccoli soup I've ever had! The puddings are equally impressive. If you want really, really good home cooked food and you are with your other half or friends, don't hesitate in coming here. But if you're with children, stick to a visit on a Sunday. We will 100% be back.

Fantastic Sunday lunch. Friendly staff and the pub has a real buzz. First time my friends and I have been for a meal, won't be the last. Couldn't belive the lady behind the bar, it was really busy, she was on her own, doing half a dozen things at the same time and still a big smile on her face, worth her weight in gold.

Great food. Been for Sunday lunch and mid week meals. Always great food with big portions. Boneless duck is a favourite of mine. Sunday lunch portion is immense the roast potatoes are amazing.
Wonderful food, value for money. Lovely staff & very friendly, will be returning again very soon.
Since my Wife passed away in October 2021 I've had a Sunday lunch delivered every week. The food is amazing and tasty and would totally recommend the Albion Inn.
The staff are all friendly ,welcoming and accommodating to your requirements.

Just moved to the area and thought we would give this place a go... When we first walked in we got greeted straight away and took to are table. The dinning area is small and was worried at first but the atmosphere in the pub was great and felt very welcomed.
We ordered the pan fried duck and a steak pie and when the food arrived it looked great with a good sized portion, we then tucked in to are dinner and it's the best duck I have had in years it was that good I had to let my missus try some... I tried the pie and it was amazing too every part off the meals was great even the veg..
We finished with a couple of desserts and they hit the spot too..
So time to leave and asked for the bill and was amazed at this!!! 5 drinks included double vodka, large wine and pints. 2 main meals and desserts was under £50????????
I would of paid so much more for the quality of food and drinks this place is a Gem and will definitely be back very soon and would highly recommend it to everyone and anyone if I could give more stars I would.
Took our son, daughter in law & 2 grandchildren for a meal. The food was outstanding & nothing was too much trouble for the chef - who gladly took special requests from our 9yr old grand son.
Had a sunday lunch was lovely fresh tasty and plenty of it. the pub is how pubs used to be when pubs were good friendly old school pub will call again for sure.
