First time here and it was absolutely lovely upon entering. Real nice welcome and shown to our table in the conservatory. I opted for the liver sausage & onions this was served with mash & 3 fresh veg, my 2 elderly friends had the home made steak pie with mash & veg. Very generous portions. We then had a pudding but be aware these portions are big enough for 2people to share ! I definitely will be returning and highly recommend. Booking is also advisable to avoid disappointment. Thanks to you all we had a very enjoyable lunch. Just need a nap now !! 😊

Love this place, always amazing home cooked food and friendly staff. The steak Pie is the best going! Always like to finish off with a slice of lemon meringue. Brilliant for a big meal or a generous slice of cake and coffee. My favourite place to go with great prices.

What a delight. A little off the beaten track but a must visit. The food is home cooked traditional meals and desserts. It is set in a beautiful garden with lots of rescue birds some of which will talk if you are lucky. Our girls love coming here, it is a real treat!

What a great experience we had today. Thank you so much for the staff for being so accommodating to us by allowing us a spare plate to our Mum who struggles to eat big meals. Nothing was too much trouble, every one was smiling and the service and atmosphere was amazing, as was the delicious food! Thank you all so much for your understanding and help today. We will certainly be back x

Took my 93 year old mum here. It is all home cooked meals and similar in style to a carvery. Except it's maybe steak pie, brazing steak, chicken and more. The meals are basically hot dinners deliciously home cooked. My mum had a brazing steak plus spuds and veg ( they don't do chips ) and she was well pleased. I had the steak pie, again well pleased. Then the sweet. Lemon marang pie for my mum and banoffe pie. Again home cooked and delicious. The ladies running the place were also first class. And the price was more than reasonable. Will go back for sure.

Here you have a little cafe ,that is in tetney which is lovely to go for walks in . You have to pass a world war bomb that is stuck in the ground nose down , for all the name dropping people you have to pass Ella Endersons the singers house. The coffee shop however has great friendly staff. The food is home made fresh everyday . You can see the chef in the back making pies, and sweets ready to cook. Their meat pie is legend, you may have had great pies but not like this homemade steak pie . The prices are average not too over the top ,but it would be worth it if they were, if you love home made baking and cooked dinners then you should go. They usually have three or four things to choose from, meat pie, sheperds pie, chicken pie and one other it varies, then you get two lots of potatoes then you help yourself to the veg ,but go just before 12 because the food which opens at 12 goes quickly especially the steak pie. The sweet s are to die for too ,the scones are superb and cheese cake infact I haven't had anything there that has been rubbish .in the summer it has outside steering ,which is a lovely sun trap, on the grounds they have cages with pheasants, parrots and other birds in ,so afterwards you can take a short walk around them ,there isn't lots just one big cage, but if your outside having a cuppa with the children it's safe for them to go and have a look. It's well off the main rd so no worries about traffic ,it has a good free car park

Very pleasant environment and good service. Prices reasonable. Had panini which came with crisps and some salad. Both crisps and salad were disappointing.
