This was our first visit to the Black Horse and we were very surprised, you enter through the front entrance and you are meet with a lovely bar area and then you are shown Toby our table. This can be either in the indoor seated restaurant or on a lovely day like in out visit, outside in the garden. We both had the Sunday roast, this was the best roast we have ever had. The pudding were great as well. All the staff were great and service was excellent. The only problem, they don’t take cash payments which is such a shame.

What a treat it was to visit the Black Horse, my parent's and I had such a delicious meal, I had the scallops and pork belly, I honestly think this was the best meal I've had all year. Everything was so well thought out in the dish, all of the various sauces, crusts, garnishes etc. My mum had the lamb roulade and we shared the mains - just absolutely delicious. The pub was also very large and had a great set up out the back, perfect for summer evenings and it was buzzing on the day we visited. Wish we lived closer so we could visit again!

Exceptional first visit to The Black Horse in Thame on a Saturday lunchtime in April. We were lucky enough to enjoy a table outside on a lovely sunny day. Lots of lovely seating areas giving lots of opportunities for secluded options or larger groups too. Food was fantastic and with a yummy sounding menu we will definitely be back to try it again. Thank you.

Absolutely phenomenal food, great service from polite and knowledgeable waitress. Chorizo Ketchup with the burger was amazing. The BEST proper liqueur coffee I’ve had since visiting the Jamesons factory in Ireland. Wish I lived closer so I could come here all the time!

Excellent Sunday roast here. Beef cooked perfectly to our liking - rare and pink in the middle, tender and extremely tasty. Great accompaniments and superb Yorkshire pud. Very busy on the Sunday we were there - obviously popular and justifiably so based on what we ate.

One of the few really "delicious" places in Thame. We had a great time with a group of 6 people. The food is great! I especially liked the cauliflower steak dish - it was simply wonderful. When we arrived, the restaurant was simply sold out, but a table was immediately found for our group, which was very pleasant. We also appreciated the availability of towels and hand cream in the bathroom. If the most important thing for you is to have a delicious meal and sit peacefully, then this establishment will definitely suit you!

Reasonably priced, nice courtyard setting, beer kept well, slightly intrusive neighbouring table. We had shin bone (very nice), lamb (slightly smaller portion than expected - but the mint peas were fantastic). Rapid and efficient service - would recommend

Great food, polite staff, lovely variety of seating absolutely beautiful venue. However allergen options are limited such as no burger because the bun has milk in it, no steaks at all because we usually use butter to baste, shame honestly but the food I could eat was delicious and I'm told the burger was exceptionally good. Well worth a visit parking behind the venue and plenty of local parking also available.
