Music night was great, but drinks were expensive. £20 for a bottle of wine we thought was too much. Staff were nice and it's obviously very popular.

Canny little spot with a larger outdoor area + covered stage and as it was untypical UK BANK HOLIDAY weather we could sit out at one of many picnic tables and take in the totally live 3 piece rock band.
Steve Bell
Awesome, staff never stopped as was quite busy with outside service only due to Covid , both out pints were exceptionally well kept and therefore tasted beautiful, we will be back very soon
Josh Jordan
The best pub in the area for a good pint and some live music!! 🎸

Great pub. Excellent beers. Very traditional pub decor despite the rather modern sounding name. Lovely staff. Recommended.

Nice little local pub, great atmosphere at weekends

We went here to see love music on a Thursday night. Great beer and atmosphere, dog friendly too. Only problem for us was band started over an hour late and then had an extortionate long break between sets which meant that we missed most of the second set. Otherwise loved it
Ben “The Critic”

What a fabulous quirky find! Excellent selection of craft beers and super friendly staff. We sat in the beers garden, on a lovely day, great ambience, will definitely return next time we're in the area.

Management needs a personality transplant. As a customer, if you enjoy being someone that is treated as though their custom isn’t worthy then this is the place for you! Bit of a shame really as the venue is amazing.

We used to come here quite regularly when I come to Thirsk to visit my mum, either as a group of 3 or 6 of us. We liked it here, as the food was always lovely and there is a nice outside eating/drinking area. So since the refurbishment, we were looking forward to trying the new tex mex menu. First of all the food took absolutely ages to arrive, which you don't mind so much when it comes & is nice. But all I can say is that the food was not edible! We ordered chicken enchiladas, a pulled pork ciabatta & a corn on the cob for my 1 year old son, (no one could find me a kids menu). When it finally arrived, the enchiladas had no taste really & I don't know what is being used as a chicken substitute, but it most definitely isn't chicken. The only way I can describe the texture is that of biting through some sort of watery, slimy rubber, which I have never experienced anything like it before. The pulled pork ciabatta was dripping with grease, so much so that when taking a bite the grease was running down my arm. And last but not least the corn on the cob was described as poached corn with butter, which was perfect for my son as he loves chewing on them at home. And although it was made known it was for my one year old, as when ordering, I was asked if I'd like it cutting up or stripping for him. When it came it was absolutely covered in a brown, extremely salty spice, which meant I could not give it to him as it was not suitable for a child of his age. Not once did anyone come out to ask how our meal was. So as we didn't want to go inside the restaurant & make a fuss & had already paid up front when ordering, we just left our food and went elsewhere. So all in all an extremely disappointing & expensive lunch, costing us over £30 for our meal there, then being forced to go and pay again elsewhere. Will not be returning in a hurry!
