Maggie, Katie and the team were fantastic during the planning of our wedding and the day itself was everything we wanted and more. Every detail, every query was dealt with professionalism and in a friendly manner that put us at ease on our special day. The chef, Jack, was happily chatting with us the day before the wedding during setup and our guests are still talking about his incredible food almost two weeks later. We can't wait to return to The Angel to try more from the menu.
We also loved seeing the girls behind the bar having a dance and a bit of fun during the reception, the atmosphere was perfect.
Thank you all very much, a day we will never forget!

First class Hotel and venue, this is our second visit the first was for Sunday lunch which was a truly tasty meal large Yorkshire puddings,generous sl8ces of meat and large side dishes to compliment.
The second visit was for a wedding,everything was above and beyond, the venue,the food ,the staff were all very very good.
I really do recommend The Angel wheter its for Sunday lunch or something else.

We had our works Xmas party here last night - what a fabulous time we had! The food was excellent - the salmon was divine!
Big shout out to the staff who were exceptional - really friendly & helpful.
The DJ played some great music & was very obliging to requests.
All in all a highly memorable evening - we will be back next Xmas (if you'll have us! 😂

Stopped off here for lunch. Had fairly standard range of beers on with a couple of cask. The beer I had was a golden ale from Pennines Brewery which was kept well and tasty. Food is pub classics with the addition of burgers and pizzas. My food was nice. I'd come back if in the area. Staff were friendly and looked after us.

Can. Not. Recommend this place enough. The food was gorgeous every night, the rooms great, and all the staff were absolutely awesome. A special mention has to made for the manager, Connor, who not only put up with us but looked after us completely the whole time, and Mel, who was still welcoming and patient with us after a crazy long shift - and even took the time to map out a scenic route for us to drive home.

Had an excellent night catching up with my 2 mums after a long 10 years apart.
Great food and lovely pub with THE best staff I have experienced in a very long time. They were soooo happy in their work ... It was a really nice and warming atmosphere.
Unsure of the currency conversion I am not too sure if my tip at the end was as good as I had thought at the time, so my apology there x

Went here for a family wedding. We booked a double room which was really nice, clean, presentable and above all .... comfortable.. The food served by the staff, both afternoon lunch and breakfast, was spot on with no faults from anyone. The staff were helpful and polite and had a good laugh with the bar staff as the night went on. Would highly recommend this place for food and/or a stay over.

Lovely stay here after our wedding. We had previously booked a table but when we arrived there was no record. This was not a problem as we ended up with a Window table. Suite lovely and four poster very comfy and the room had a massive bathroom. Our meals were lovely and the staff very friendly. We will be back.

Stayed for one night on the way to Scotland, Had a very comfortable room and breakfast was excellent, it was very good value. I ate in the restaurant in the evening and as a Coeliac had a very good choice of gluten free items, as well as a yummy dessert. Would stay again and recommend to others.

Stayed at The Angel for two nights as part of a friend's wedding. It was very well priced and conveniently located to travel to Lodge Farm Weddings, as well as to Thirsk and Ripon by car.
The rooms were clean and well presented, with all expected amenities, and a good power shower, something which can be lacking at some places.
We ate on the first night and had breakfast on both mornings - it was again, well presented and the food was lovely, to the extent we were a little disappointed we weren't able to eat the second night of our stay.
Noise levels in the rooms were not excessive for the pub being open downstairs.
We'd happily stay again.

Lovely private dining room for parties, very clean everywhere.. The beer needs to be alot cooler went flat very quickly and dead.. the bar service was good though...the food was quite good the brucheta was cold would not recommend this starter the crayfish starter was OK but more salad leaves than fish.... the seabass was excellent along with the sauce and the sticky toffee pudding and ice cream the cheese plateau was luvly but the biscuits were soft....would I go again?? YES, but improvement needed in small areas

Really nice place to stay Food was very good. Our room had one or two minor issues with the bathroom which we reported on checking out. There is a very nice beer garden in which to relax.

Quite a formal but professional welcome on arrival and informative. Room was small but well furnished and warm. The hotel itself is nicely decorated and comfortable with a quirky layout which is probably due to the age of the place. The food in the restaurant was out of this world, the steak was fantastic.
Breakfast this morning was delicious and the full English option used quality local products. The bacon is to die for.
I’d highly recommend a stay here or a meal but reservation is a must as it’s a very popular venue

As a group of friends we have been staying here for a few trips now and can say it's one of the best country hotels you will find. Excellent menu, good selection of drinks and great beer garden to relax in. A special mention to our favourite staff member who looks after us so well at breakfast.

Great place to stay to explore North Yorkshire area with lots to see and do. Good food and drink. Modern, clean rooms serviced daily. A little wait at times for service. Excellent breakfast choices all cooked freshly and Margaret was a fab early morning waitress, smiley, professional and attentive. Would definitely recommend.
