Proper pub. Good beer. Pleasant customers. Very obliging bar staff. Good honest food. And above all, dog friendly. Would I use it again? Yes I would.

Wow. What a hidden gem!! Just had lunch which was served quickly and courteously. The staff proved attentive then left us alone to enjoy first class food. Dave the chef is on top form. I will definately eat here the next time I am in Thirsk. A big thank you to the team at The Black Bull!

Went to watch the football, England won the semi! Not much of an atmosphere but that wasn't the pub's fault. They provided pizzas at half time which was a nice touch. A genuine pub run by friendly local staff.

Centrally located, parking outside the door when the parking lot is not full. Located right by the Info centre for the village. Beautiful building and good food.

This a great place to have a nice quiet afternoon pint. We were in on a friday afternoon in january it was not busy but the lady at the bar was lovely the bar itself is decorated as it was years ago great. We went back in on the night and it was busy there was music playing and a nice crowd of people. Really good place to meet people from all over the north east.

Just visiting the area, Fantastic Sunday roast , The best I have tasted anywhere, as good as it gets. Great service and price, just wish this place was my local, so I could go more often.

Lovely place for a drink and a chat, good selection of draught beers and very dog friendly inside or outside in the beer garden. This is our 2nd visit and won't be the last, landlord and locals very welcoming.

Lovely traditional pub, friendly bar staff and excellent Wainwright on tap. Most important, it was an expertly poured full pint.

Always get a warm welcome. Could do with some alcohol free gin then it would be perfect.
