A lovely little chippy in Thornton-Le-Dale that we always pop to when stopping in the area. There was quite a wait for food as there was only one staff member working when we visited, but he was very apologetic and very friendly despite the obvious pressure.

Lovely little fish and chips shop with some nice specials. I have the fish tacos with spicy mayo and pickled cabbage. A great way to eat fish.
Every year we come to the east coast on holiday and people have always rated fish and chips from whitby. I can honestly say the fish tacos and fish and chips we have just eaten from Thornton Dale Fisheries beat anything from Whitby or anything in the area hands down. Everything cooked to order.
What a lovely takeaway. We are a family of 6 (4 adults, 2 children) the food was cooked fresh when we ordered it. The young man serving was extremely polite and the man cooking was nice too. Nice chips, but you need to park in the village centre not on the main road outside as the road is busy and you end up backing up the traffic.
A proper fish and chip shop, food cooked to order, pies baked not microwaved. Great taste.
For a village chippy and you want fish 🐟 and chips 🍟 you can't go wrong they were excellent 👌. Also it has info about the village to read while you wait 😉.

Excellent! Freshly cooked to order so expect a wait but we’ll worth it.
Excellent food, average to dear price especially if ordering fish however the food is good. Curry is to die for, gravy has a nice taste but far to watery.
Price and gravy needs work hence 4 stars.
I would recommend though and will return when I'm next on holiday this way
