Review The Green Man - Thriplow

One of the best roasts I've had. Lovely pub, very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely visit again. My mum also loved the vegetarian option roast, said it was the nicest she has had. The only slight negative I had was the price of dessert, £8.00 is quite steep, and it was very small.

The muscles are nice, the sauce was tasty and the bread was fluffy and flavourful. The honey roasted ham was so nice and sweet and paired nicely with the chips and eggs. Good portion sizes with okay pricing. Not much variety for desserts though.

Managed to book a table for 4 this morning, arrived at 3.20 for a 3.30 booking. First impressions were very good, staff friendly and welcoming. We were seated quickly at a clean table and soon had drinks and menus. Excellent choice on offer, I had roast lamb which was delicious, served with veg cooked to perfection, followed by pannacotta with berries. A lovely pub/restaurant with happy staff = happy customers! Highly recommend a visit

Catered v well for our party of 21 cyclists today! I had sea bream with clam chowder & samphire in a creamy sauce which was delicious! My wife's fish and chips scored highly too, as did the beer! Nice old pub, set in a pretty village! Highly recommended!

Food is great together with the service and atmosphere, but the tables are always sticky and do not feel clean and sometimes the bar is cluttered with stuff. The food cannot be faulted though.

Popped in here for a late lunch. Unfortunately, the Kitchen hadhad just closed. However, the chef very kindly cooked up some delicious burgers accompanied by some proper ale. Fabulous service.

Zero complaints. 3 course meal was good! Had a starter, (fried whitebait which was ok & Carrot and Coriander soup) main (truffle, black olive, and tomato pasta with delicious sauce & fish and chips which was a good portion) dessert. (Treacle tart with lavender and honey, and the beetroot, ginger, and hazelnut cake 🤤) Service was pretty good. Definitely returning during our stay. The wine was absolutely divine.

We love the Green Man. The food is excellent. We've had some fabulous family Sunday lunches, evening meals, and Saturday afternoon with a sharing platter and a couple of beers in front of the Six Nations is so much fun. Mike & Nicola have done an amazing job of bringing warmth back to the pub post-pandemic. It's often packed. Highly recommended! After writing this review, I discovered to my dismay that Mike & Nicola have been made to leave by the tenant landlord. My family and I are deeply saddened by his decision. I hope that their replacement is able to maintain the quality of service that we have received from Mike & Nicola.

Thoughtful and intelligent service with regards to food, beer and wine. Lovely setting and good food. I've been here before to visit friends who live nearby, and would recommend. Proper simple pub food - done very well. A free house - with a couple of good beers, which means husband won't turn up his nose at 'plastic' beers!
