Three Wheat Heads - Thropton - Photo album

I have stayed here a couple of times now. It’s always lovely and clean. All staff are so friendly and make you feel welcome. The food is delicious. I stay out of season when it’s not the best weather outside and that log burner was so welcoming after a long walk. I will definitely be back hopefully
We stayed local to this pub. From the outside this pub looks a little tired however inside its great and traditional in decor. We dined on two consecutive nights and the food was good, service was friendly and great and the general ambience was relaxed and homely. There is a great beer garden with

I had a lovely dinner here and would certainly recommend! It wasn't super busy on a weekend evening, but I'd still say to book ahead if possible. Try to request a table that faces the hills. Absolutely beautiful view! We had the fish and chips, which were delicious, and the small cod was definitely
Great value food with big portions and friendly staff. We went with 3 slices of meat from the carvery which was plenty, you can chose from 1 to 5 slices. This was served with a good selection vegetables and gravies. Beer garden has a good view across the value. Very busy in the restaurant when we c

I cannot express just how incredible our experiences were here. The staff are so friendly, the drinks are reasonably priced with plenty of selection, the food was absolutely spot on - and the views from the beer garden are unrivalled. I will be returning.
Had dinner two nights recently, fantastic meals both nights, reasonably priced as you get huge portions, definitely recommend

Loved this place and the lovely people here! The village is quiet, the view absolutely charming. The food was amazing! It is away from the busyness of the tourist towns, but close enough to enjoy them all. We stayed 4 nights and wished we could stay 4 more.
We returned here for our second wedding anniversary and I have to say it is just as nice as we remembered we stayed for 1 night and it was excellent the room was lovely and clean and has excellent facilities the food is amazing and of the highest quality we had a roast beef dinner which was deliciou
Four people for lunch yesterday in the bar, very surprised to see we were alone though I think many were in the beer garden. Service was slow but as it seemed there was one staff member looking after restaurant, bar and garden that's hardly surprising, poor woman was run off her feet but it did mean
So we stopped off for an over night stay, the bedrooms were large. The beds could do with a topper, just to make a bit more soft. But the sheets were lovely! Parking was quite tight next to each other. The food, oh wow was amasing. Had the chicken with leek sauce!! And the chips OMG! Would defo eat
What is it with this walking lark? 2 new places in a week!!!!!! Last week, it was an epic trip to Malham Cove in North Yorkshire this week it's Thropton (a little village in Northumberland). I am certainly not complaining it's just a bit weird, especially considering that I have been a member of the
Extensive menu, delicious food, hearty portions - lovely setting with views into the valley. We walked from Rothbury, 6 mile round trip, well worth the visit.
Popped in for lunch and ordered chicken in balsamic vinegar accompanied with creamy mashed potatoes and a selection of vegetables, done to perfection the chef should be very proud of himself and the service was second to none, will definitely return.
