We travelled over an hour from our holiday resort to visit here and it was worth it!. Everything we tried was absolutely amazing, the meat was so tasty and cooked to perfection. We tried the Cajun meat platter for two and a pit plate for one with pulled pork. Huge portions!. Couldn't recommend this place enough, we would definitely be regulars if we didn't live so far away. Staff were really friendly and the outdoor pods were ideal as we brought our dog. 10/10!!

Stopped here just passing through, found the staff very friendly. The food smelt amazing as you entered. They had a good selection of ale's,cider's and lagers. Highly recommend the philly cheese steak. Fresh pizzas coming soon. Would definitely eat here again if I was passing through

Visited before Xmas and I've been going on about this place to anyone that listens. The food is flavourful and fresh with nearly all the menu items made from scratch on premises. Their big smokers are going nearly 24/7, smoking meats on premises. We had the sharing platter which was immense, the portions here are substantial and you won't leave hungry. Prices, despite cost of living, are reasonable. Good beer selection and incredibly friendly staff who make you feel welcomed as soon as you step through the door. Bravo!

I'm going back here and soon, the food looked really good the price was right and it's a proper pub in the bar side with a pool table and dartboard.

Fabulous range of gluten free meals "everything is gluten free" or can be made GF. This is a village pub with a typical southern USA restaurant attached. Don't go expecting anything swanky. But, the staff are lovely, attentive and helpful; the food is tasty, you need to like smoked barbeque, and plentiful; and the value is superb.

Incredibly tasty food. I couldn't fault a single thing. Best pulled pork I've ever eaten. Ribs were smoked nicely with great flavour still. Nice homemade chips and delicious coleslaw. The 3 Little Piggys burger was huge with fantastic flavours from the meats and a massive hash brown. Just the right level of messiness! As others have mentioned in reviews the table needed a clean but the decor and ambiance of the place is very good. The waitress was a delight and very attentive. The meal was decent value considering the portion sizes but the ribs were a bit overpriced (based on quantity not quality of course!). I'll definitely aim to get back to try some other delights on the impressive menu.

The team at The Hickory Inn were fantastic. We were a large group of 15 in for a Sunday roast and they excelled in every way possible. Great table, food was fantastic and so much of it. 5* all round, will definitely be visiting again.

the food was frankly perfect. large portions superbly cooked with a lot of variety on the Menu. the meals came out quickly. the staff were unfailingly polite and helpful. the venue is Dog friendly however it could do with "pup plates" to keep them occupied whilst humans eat as its a very interesting environment for them and they can get restless.

The sort of place you'd drive straight past if you hadn't read reviews on it as it just looks like a normal village pub. Just a normal pub on one side, but a steakhouse/smokehouse on the other. Very friendly staff, the food was lovely, and service was quick (although it was the middle of the afternoon and there were only two tables of customers). Lots of burgers, steaks, burnt ends, fish, that sort of thing. I had the pit plate with burnt ends, and links (a huge sausage). It came with onion rings, coleslaw, beans, gravy, bread, and a choice of mac n cheese or chips. My wife had a huge burger with similar extras. Both were excellent. We finished with a milk shake each which were lovely, but I felt a little in the expensive side. I'm glad we looked the place up and decided to go, would definitely go again if in the area.

Roadhouse style interior with music to match. More food than you can shake a stick at, good quality tasty meals. Great selection if Gin, unfortunately only Schweppes tonic water 😞
