We booked the Estuary apartment for the week of our wedding in nearby Exeter. The apartment was really spacious with a lovely view. Comfortable bed and good shower. Amazing location right in the heart of Topsham with views of the estuary. Highly recommend!
Popped in here for coffee and cake which were both delicious. The guy who served us had a lovely northern accent and was so friendly and polite. This was our first visit and I'd certainly recommend it. 😊

Im a celiac and the team made sure every cooking surface was clean before they cooked my breakfast! Wowsers!! Absolutely BRILLIANT! They unfortunately didnt have any gluten free sausages so they gave me extra bacon! Oh yummy yummy! Thanks Route 2!
Second visit now. First in April when the place was packed on an Easter-ish weekend and it family of four rocked up.
This time a second pit stop - brunch for two. Smashed avocado with extra bacon. Is have taken a photo but it was genuinely the best smashed avo I've ever tasted so you get a picture of the empty plate instead. Sorry about that. Yum!!
A lovely historical building that used to be a very popular pub, but is now a relaxing cafe with a cycling theme. Very central location and great views.
Held my 60th Birthday Party there and Route 2 provided an incredible friendly and personal service. They provided an amazing buffet which included lots of fresh and home cooked food. It was a perfect venue for 50 people.

We recently spent a lovely weekend in Topsham at the Route 2 apartments and were welcomed with really friendly and helpful staff. Kate and Joe were a great help with recommending pubs and restaurants close by as well as things to do in Exeter during our stay. We stayed in the Estuary apartment which overlooked The Quay and had a stunning bedroom and living/dining space which was all so relaxing and comfortable and perfect for the weekend. The food in the cafe downstairs was delicious, and made mornings really easy for a quick breakfast to start the day. Couldn’t recommend enough for anyone wanting a quick getaway by the coast!
Myself and my partner stayed in the Zephyr room for 2 nights over New Year. The room was clean, homely and the bed was very comfortable. Kate and Joe are fabulous hosts, nothing was too much for them. We had breakfast and one meal at their Cafe below (which you can access privately from the apartments). The food was exceptional, high quality, tasty and great Gluten free options for myself (who is coeliac). The cafe and apartments are in a great location, right in the centre of Topsham, close to local walks, pubs and shops. Thank you!
Went to Route 2 Cafe via recommendation and were not disappointed. Went for the full route and route 66, with some of the best fried eggs my partner and I had ever eaten.

Four of us visited Sunday morning in need of a good breakfast after celebrating the rugby the day before. Absolutely fabulous food. Can’t fault it. Meaty sausages, thick smoked bacon, soft eggs and everything piping hot. Even the slab of hand cut toast which arrived hot and already buttered. Even better, I forgot my handbag. Two days later I discovered it there safely locked away and all intact. Great people, great food and as my sister said the best breakfast out we have ever had. Thank you x
