I popped in for a couple of drinks and even the locals were happy to see the pub still open rather than being turned into houses. Friendly atmosphere, under new management, local ales on tap and only improving. I would highly recommend a visit and see for yourself!

Taken over earlier this year, its menu gives a variety of food and drink. The new owner was friendly and welcoming. Great to see they are also doing love events which are very popular. Parking is free- remember to put your reg details on the tablet inside by the bar

Had pleasure of a meal here on Saturday night, each time we have been the landlady and landlord have always been very friendly and welcoming, which is a pleasant change from the previous ones. All the staff are attentive and helpful, the food was reasonably priced and very tasty, I had looked at the black pudding fritter starter previously on the menu and had set my mind on these - and was not disappointed - they were immense, chicken parmesan as main course - again really good. Already planning what we will have next from the menu

As a regular to topsham, and a few years since being here, what an amazing surprise. Great food...amazing menu and could not choose...too many refreshing choices. My fish was amazing and maybe the best mushy peas I have ever had... very pretty and great service and great feeling...board games, great value and a friendly dog... make a visit and enjoy the experience....

Really friendly pub with great food. Staying in Topsham for a few days and was the best pub we visited. The staff were excellent, even persuading to try flavoured rum, and the food was top notch. Will be back.

We visited The Lord Nelson in Topsham, Devon, whilst in the area, having previously been bowled over by the high standards and creativity new hosts Jon and Jayne had set in their previous pub, The Poacher in South Warnborough. They have fully realised the potential of The Lord Nelson by turning it into a fabulous pub and kitchen with food, drinks, service, welcome and ambience all of the highest quality. A true jewel in a gem of a town. We would highly recommend a visit.

In these early post lockdown days it seems even to sit in a pub garden you have to book in advance!! So....hats off to the waitress in charge who graciously allowed us, as visitors to Topsham, to have a pint and some nuts off the cuff. Beautiful day, nice pint, great to see everyone enjoying themselves. The food looked good , we will be back to try it....

We have eaten here many times and this time we took our son and his family for a Sunday roast. Exceptional meal and great service with the manager even offering to walk our granddaughter around the car park so her mum could enjoy her meal 😀

A Quintessential Topsham Experience at The Lord Nelson Pub & Kitchen The Lord Nelson Pub & Kitchen, nestled in the heart of picturesque Topsham, is truly an unforgettable experience that combines the warmth of a classic British pub with the refinement of contemporary dining. This gem of an establishment offers the perfect spot for locals and visitors alike to gather, whether it's for a casual drink or a sumptuous meal. The moment you step into The Lord Nelson, you'll be welcomed by an enchanting atmosphere, with its exposed wooden beams, charming nautical decor, and cozy nooks perfect for intimate conversations. The ambiance is a delightful mix of traditional and modern, reflecting Topsham's rich maritime history while offering a touch of sophistication. The menu showcases a fantastic selection of British favorites and innovative dishes, highlighting the finest locally sourced ingredients. I was particularly taken by the delectable fish and chips, featuring a light, crispy batter and perfectly cooked, flaky fish. Paired with the homemade tartar sauce and golden, hand-cut chips, it was a taste of Topsham that I won't soon forget. For those looking for something a bit different, their seasonal specials are a delightful surprise. On my visit, I enjoyed a beautifully presented vegetarian dish that demonstrated the chef's creativity and commitment to satisfying diverse palates. No visit to a British pub would be complete without a diverse and expertly curated selection of beverages, and The Lord Nelson does not disappoint. With an impressive array of local ales, ciders, wines, and spirits, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The knowledgeable staff were more than happy to suggest perfect pairings for our meals, adding to the overall enjoyment of the evening. The service at The Lord Nelson Pub & Kitchen is truly exceptional. The staff are attentive, friendly, and passionate about providing an extraordinary experience for their guests. They effortlessly balance professionalism with a warm, personal touch that made us feel like cherished regulars. In summary, The Lord Nelson Pub & Kitchen in Topsham is a must-visit destination for those seeking a memorable dining experience in a cozy, welcoming setting. The outstanding food, exceptional service, and charming atmosphere make it a place you'll want to return to time and time again. I eagerly await my next visit to this Topsham treasure!

We had not booked a table and our visit was Saturday 29/4/23. We had called around a couple of weeks ago and they were still in the process of revamping the place. It was quiet when we got here and we were greeted and given a choice of tables. We ordered drinks and then ordered food. The Broccoli and Stilton soup was fantastic as a starter, we then had fish and chips and a bacon & Cheese burger. Both were very nice the batter exceptional. Deserts next, Biscotti cheese cake, Eton mess, and Trillionaires tart. The cheese cakes were amazing, the others were good too. Overall, great friendly service. And we will be back soon. Thankyou and good luck with your new venture.
