Penelope Restaurant

I absolutely love Greek food and Penelope is really delicious. I was there for lunch before a matinee at the Princess of Wales, so it was extremely conveniently located. Due to the King Street pilot project, it doesn't make sense to drive down there and try to find parking, but transit is extremely convenient and I didn't miss not having my car. The food was good and the views were gorgeous; I could see the theater right out the window. We had both types of lamb and the calamari; my favourite was the lamb chops. I was there on a Wednesday and the restaurant was busy enough. The service was satisfactory and the meal came out quickly. Even though there were a lot of people, it didn't feel like we were packed in like sardines and the noise level wasn't too high.

Had the dip with pita bread, it was delicious! The lamb chop and rack of lamb we had was ok, asked for medium rare and got dried medium. Server told us to ask for rare next time so the kitchen would make it medium rare. Price for dinner is a bit more expensive compared to the lunch menu for the same portion.

Very good ambience, less options in Vegetarian food but Vegetable Souvlaki was very delicious. I would love to visit again to have the same dish. Great blend of flavours with a Greek yogurt on the plate. Staff is really friendly. A bit overpriced, but Downtown with Greek food will definitely come with a price. The best part I liked was the juicy Mushroom and that was the show stopper of the recipe. A must visit at this Greek Food Restaurant.

I really enjoyed the roast lamb here. The place has a Greek theme air of elegance to it. Very proper. Waiters were very nice and formal. This place is on street level in the heart of the financial district. Very nice in the summer. The street it's on is hustling with activities in the warmer months. I love coming here.
