Visited saltwater on Saturday 11th Feb 2017 for our evening meal, place was empty which put us off... but got to say so glad we went in it was the best fish and chips we have had in ages. While we was in there it certainly got busy. Staff friendly, very clean, food great and a cup of tea to die for. Next visit to Torquay will defiantly include a visit again. EXCELLENT
Lovely staff. Very clean place. Had cod and chips. Its taste was lovely. Not swimming in grease. The portion was very generous. Not over priced. True british fish and chips. When in Torquay would deffinatly go again.
Fantastic little chippy. You can eat in or takeaway. Atmosphere and decor are wonderful and staff are attentive. Cod size is great for the price and tastewise, the best fish and chips I've had to date. They also have a Daily Catch menu which have a variety of fish. I would definitely come back here again. 10/10, lovely first experience.
Always seek this place out when we're down in Torquay. Have great fish and prawns. Hope today was just a blip, as the fish was measly. Ordered a small and regular cod, judging it on other fish and chip shop sizes, what I got was extra small and small. Not good value for money today I'm afraid. Chips were OK as was the fish cake. Shame about the fish..
Just had the best cod and chips ever!
They did the cod wrapped in grease proof paper on a base of green beans and spinach with garlic and white wine sauce. Mushy peas were good too. Would definitely recommend trying the cod, exceptional 👌.
Delicious food, a little pricey. Dine in fish and chips comes with unlimited chips, which are cooked fresh each time you want more. The chips are outstanding.
Grilled fish dishes come with either a salad or chips. I had monkfish and chose the salad and upgraded to feta and tomato for an extra cost - this was delicious but quite a small amount of food!
A really great place..! Being on the seafront, and having the inherent tourist traffic that comes with that, it would be easy to just “phone it in”, knowing that a large portion of your customer base won’t be coming back very often… this place doesn’t fall into that trap. The staff are friendly… the manager/owner(?) even gave us napkins on entry to dry our specs after coming in from a torrent, and was attentive without being overbearing. The food was absolutely excellent… some of the best fish n’ chips I’ve eaten. Not at all greasy and very fresh. Oh, and the background music is a cornucopia of 80’s greatness..!
The fish and chips were very good but it came to £40 for two portions with tea, the most expensive chippy we've been to!! I was expecting some tartare sauce and bread and butter included with it but no.
Also the person serving us wasn't very friendly, he was very quick to do things and didn't ask if our food was ok.
Also the catch of the day was very limited when we were here.
One of the best Grill fish and fish & chips in London that I have ever had. I tried their seasonal fish and bread crumb scallop which was amazing & well season. The fish was naturally sweeten based on their catch (must try).
A must visit local fish and chips restaurant in Torquay. Fish tastes great, staff is super welcoming and the place is facing the dock. Pricing is very reasonable as compared to restaurants around. Also have ave great kids menu.
Best fish and chips I've had for ages. Gluten free options were really appreciated and being dog friendly the whole family could sit down. They even brought a chilled bowl of water for our dog as it was quite warm that evening. Recommended!
Perfect fish & chip here. The starters are delicious and the fish is very fresh. The starter of little fish is highly recommended, I haven't found anywhere else in UK. Although it's little bit pricey.
