Torquay Thai

Meal was ordered online, once placed was advised it was going to take 70min. 2 hrs past, so we went to the restaurant & advised that it was with the driver. 2hrs and 30min still no meal. We went to the restaurant again it’s on the way.. the food then arrived 3hrs later. But they had left out half the order. There was no apology or ownership of the error. When insisting on a refund advised that it would go back on my account within 3 hours… 24hrs the money is not on my account. Also no one answers the phone as they are too busy doing nothing. Please save your money, DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS RESTAURANT you will not get your food. And there is no customer service.

Best tasting Thai food in Torquay but sadly the service is possibly the *worst* I’ve experienced in years!! We’ve continued to order from here as we love the food… but every single time, they have left out a dish… not put the order through after we waited 40 minutes for it and then had to wait another 30 minutes… every time - the service has been such a horrible experience, and never any responsibility taken for it.

Taste not bad if treated as western stir fried, but not really authentic Thai. Fried chicken wings came out raw inside, got sent back to kitchen and second batch was a bit better. Third attempt was well cooked though. Thai salad was full or parsley and onions, with 2 prawns, 3 pieces of squid and 1 scallop. Not Thai! Ordered rice and it sat in the kitchen until we ran out and patient and reminded the staff. She brought out instantly... Kids waited 20-30 mins for their beloved food to arrive. Hungry enough so we didn't have energy to take photos.

Authentic Thai. Place was relatively clean and well presented. We ordered a variety of meals and they came out in a timely fashion. One thing I would have to pick on is their attention to detail, as we asked for a very mild curry but got a very hot curry instead. And asked for coconut rice but was given normal jasmine rice, which they did rectify. Service was ok and the food was great in taste. Not badly priced either.

We had satay chicken, vegetables with cashews and tofu, and pork Penang curry. The satay chicken wasn't what I'd call authentic satay. It was more like simply skewered grilled chicken lathered with peanut sauce which was a bit of a disappointment as there was no satay marinade on the meat although they were generous in their portion size for satay so if you are feeling ravenous, this is a good dish to order. Vegetables was nice. Penang curry was very tasty which I rather enjoyed. But would have been better with a little less salt and sugar. Decor was fresh, clean and pleasant with elephant head statues on the walls. Felt very spacious. Good place for groups or by yourself. Seemed popular for couples. Staff were friendly.

Angkana goes above and beyond with the cooking and customer service i wouldn't recommend any other thai restaurant cos TORQUAY THAI is the place to be it has that atmosphere no other restaurant has food is always on point and very generous in portion size they food couldn't be cooked any better i travel almost 2 hrs just to go and enjoy a curry or special fried rice with pineapple every time i walk into TORQUAY Thai the staff and owners bend over backwards even leaving the staff and owners a large tip they dont accept it they put it straight in the tips jarwell done torquay thai if i could give you 20 stars rating i would love this place 😀... & BTW i wasnt paid to post my review the Owners & staff are amazing not only they are amazing and the food is like i mentioned earlier foid us always on point...
