Safe to say our special night at Alisito’s was a memorable one. Faced with the tough, yet necessary decision of ordering our main meals, my girlfriend and I (upon reflecting on the experience) were thrilled with the available options, especially the ‘Nachos (GF, V)’ + additional Guacamole (totaling a mere $20). As pictured below, the nachos made heads turn, mouths dribble, and most importantly stomachs churn. Ask yourself, what do you get when 2 people with chronic diarrhoea have 1 toilet in their home? Splitting the toilet down the middle isn’t as easy as it seems. After clashing rear ends and exchanging loose and watery stools, we both agreed that while the ceramic dish of slop granted our bungholes forceful power, overall it was a very pleasant dining experience, with great service and friendly staff. Give Alisito’s a shot for yourself and enjoy a pleasurable but unforgiving experience!

Great vibe place right next to the camp ground and other shops. Reminds me of Brunswick Street! Away from the main Esplanade so you can get a park easily. Food was good, unfortunately not great. The nachos had some strange cheese sauce that didn’t taste like cheese and was too liquid so the chips were soggy. The beef burrito was a bit dry. However, the side sauce was delish with a hint of chilli and the home made hot sauce was a winner! Bonus points goes to the staff who were friendly and the live music. Support local talent!

This is the closest thing to legit Baja Mexican food in the region which is really refreshing as most restaurateurs attempting Mexican around here either go for way too cheesy Tex-Mex or add an expensive twist like fancy ingredients that you'd never find in Mexico to try and justify exorbitant prices, or just charge exorbitant prices for basic items and go out of business like Las Olas. $20 burrito?! This is meant to be cheap, street food.
Alisito's is close to being a very good venue but there's a few things they could easily fix if they really wanted to build a strong reputation.
The attitude of the staff members was great and service was good when we were attended to, but this was not often enough and we needed to call for the attention of staff several times.
The staff are obviously COVID aware because they spent time wiping down already wiped surfaces at the expense of customer attention. They wore masks but generally employed the 'nose out' method and lowered masks to speak to customers. Yup.
And I'm not sure if they're aware but their booking service OpenTable offers the customer the opportunity to select an 'Occassion'. We came here for our twins' birthday so chose Birthday and gave some details in the Requirements section. It was never mentioned at the restaurant.
The food is pretty good overall but the service could use some attention.

Staff are friendly, nice little place, had live music on while I was there. Food just didn’t quite hit the spot for me, I seemed to get grainy bits every so often too, like dirt or something. Flavours just missed the mark, I had the BBQ pulled pork and was just underwhelming, I mean for $20 I guess it’s not bad, but have had a lot better for less

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have been to. The food is absolutely delicious and portion sizes are just right. The drinks are priced reasonably and the Margarita's are spot on. Just the perfect ratio of tequila to not feel sick and have memories of a bad shot from a night out. Highly recommend and will be back.

Amazing, genuine mexican food. The food was delicious, all brought out together so no one was waiting on their food. The customer service was really unique and lovely.

Chicken enchilada was very nice and the range of mexican beer was a fun adventure to say the least. They also do home made hot sauce, which was very nice indeed. Staff was also very nice and fun.

Arrived at 6pm, 1 staff member leaving. 4 tables with patrons at this stage. We are sat at our table and waited 10 minutes to be served drinks. We ordered drinks and food, waited a further 10 minutes for our drinks. We ordered 3 entrees and 1 main to share.. it took 45 minutes for us to get 1 of our entrees which was a bowl of corn chips... straight.from the bag into a ramekin..... a further 25 minutes for the remainder of our food. It was lukewarm.
Only 2 staff working to run the place (excluding kitchen staff). By the time we had been there an hour the place was full, but there was not enough staff to run the place. We waited far too long for our food, and given it was only warm when we received it I wonder how long it sat there waiting to be served....
