Italo's Wood Fired Pizza

Nice little restaurant with a beautiful wall painting by a local artist to set the mood. Pizza was perfect, I chose the Capricciosa and was made with quality toppings on a thin base. I usually prefer with anchovies but didn’t see an option however I wasn’t let down by the flavours. Highly recommend trying their pizzas 🍕😋 Only disappointment was the Eggplant Parma size/price

Went to get a quick pizza on New Years Eve, wasn’t very busy so thought it would be an easy choice. First of all we got told it was a 15 wait, ended up waiting almost an hour. Then our pizzas sat out for around 10 minutes before we actually got given them due to a mix up on our garlic bread, only to be handed 2 small dry pieces of “garlic bread” for $5. Pizza is the equivalent to dominos just 10x the price and wait. Wouldn’t recommend

Okay. So im afraid this will be a bit harsh. Wood fired pizza, tick. But thats where the good ends. Firstly, there was parsley on the margarita. Parsley. Not basil. Im sure some people like it, but i honestly can’t see why. Next the cheese. They say it’s mozzarella, but honestly it tastes and has a similar texture to cheap cheddar cheese. Next is the price. $20… for what you get, its just not worth-it. Im sorry, but just being honest. Now for the good. The staff are really lovely! There’s a heap of seating and its a great location. Its not cosy by any stretch but its not terrible. Definitely best for takeaway. They’re quick with getting through the orders. As always, these reviews are non exhaustive. And subject to change. Im hoping it gets better here. Fingers crossed. I will be back. I just won’t recommend it just yet.

Being from New York pizza is a big deal to many of us. This pizza was incredibly good. Perfectly cooked crust crispy on the bottom and soft on the top. Excellent balance between dough thickness, sauce amount and topping. Ingredients tasted fresh. Hands down the best pizza i have had in my 16 years in Australia. I belive the owner was the one who made the pizzas for us and this man is more than a good pizza maker. A very nice guy and master of the art of making a delicious pizza if you are near Torquay don't miss out on trying this pizza!
