We stayed on a serviced pitch here in our campervan just overnight. It was fabulous. Great location, wonderful staff, lovely grounds, great food and very good value for money. There was even an Elsan point. Only downside that would preclude me stopping more than one night was lack of shower facilities so will be back when those renovations are complete. Would highly recommend to others

Had a lovely long weekend in Torver, the accommodation was clean and comfortable, it had a large copper bath and monsoon shower in the room, lovely mountain view, flat screen TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Restaurant was exceptional and staff were friendly

Lovely friendly pub away from the madness of Coniston. Outside seating and dog friendly Great starting and finishing spot for many walks in the area. Food is fantastic just a little pricey

Great hotel, the copper bath was amazing! Rooms very neat and clean with good amenities. Lovely views from the room. Food was amazing, good sized portions and very reasonable pricing 👌 will definitely be coming back 🙌

Would definitely recommend staying here but not in the room with the copper bath. Our welcome was warm and friendly. The staff were really helpful and answered all questions. Breakfast was really good, the choice was exceptional. Evening meal was very good and the amount plentiful. The log burner was really inviting and made you want to stay in the bar. So many lovely walks around the area. Disliked · Our room was the double with the copper bath. The bath is really nice to look at, but is too big for that room. The room as a whole feels disjointed and the shower in the room was messy. Lovely views from the small bedroom window.

Great place to stop off and have a drink, meal or buy from the adjacent deli! Staff very friendly. Atmosphere good

Stayed one night. Clean room. Comfort bed. Bar closed at 9pm. The evening meal was nice. We both had the burger. Breakfast was good. A bit short on staff. I had to wait for someone to come out so I could pay the bill.

Popped in last minute for a meal. Provided a table quickly even though it was busy. Nice choice of food. I had a steak. Really nice piece of meat. My son enjoyed his macaroni cheese and garlic bread. No room for puddings! Nice atmosphere and beautiful setting.

Fantastic pub experience with very friendly and welcoming staff. Food and drink menu is great. We only stopped for a drink during our walk around Torver. Torver Deli next door.

We ate here twice over two nights, and both times were excellent. The service and atmosphere was great. The food was lovely. We had mini fish and chips, and the leg of lamb was melt in the mouth. They also sat us next to the log fire, which made for a cosy, country feel. Would definitely visit again.

Popped in for an after walking pint. Proper pub with great decor, atmosphere, real ale, mid room real fire. Barmaid was very nice and the food smelt really good.

We stayed in the shepherd huts behind the Wilson Arms and it was absolutely fantastic. We ate in the pub on both nights of our stay and the food was absolutely fantastic. The beer was great, the staff were helpful and the whole place had a lovely, friendly feel. I would recommend this pub to anyone who is in the area.

We stayed in our motorhome for 4 nights in their camping area. The pitches are on slate gravel, surrounded by a large open grassed area with picnic benches & mountain views. We were very impressed with the warm welcome and overall friendliness of all staff we saw. Although we didn't eat, the food looked delicious. Good choice of local ales too. No TV reception so take an aerial lead.

We have returned to our favourite place. Just enjoyed the Lake District's finest fresh fish platter for myself and partner enjoyed fusion Thai / Mediterranean vegetarian platter. Crispy spring rolls and samosa with Mediterranean vegetables and salads. Quirky and fun bone fide old style red telephone box outside (now an aquarium that is filled with fish in Summertime 🐟 ☎️). Plenty of space for a spot of star gazing nearby under beautiful clear night sky.

Always liked this pub, had good experiences, found the food and beer to be good and the staff friendly. However, things can change - hard day on the hills, pop in for food and drink. Stop serving at 2030, roll in at 2000hrs and the chefs walking out the door. Order a pint - it’s run out and there seemed to be ‘problems’ changing it. No food, no beer, never again!

While out with a group of friends on motorbikes, with the intention of racing the sun from Barrow to Whitby, we then found this pubby pure chance. Service was spot on, and the food even better. Highly recommend this place to visit

Went in for a pint and a portion of chips whilst walking round the lake. Pint of Loweswater gold was okay, normally an excellent pint, chips were all burnt and I can only assumed reheated. Shame really as I stayed at the Wilsons 2 years ago and it was faultless. If you're going to charge top dollar, make sure the quality is supporting this. As somebody who spends 50+ night a year in the area, I've found much better and cheaper pubs. I used to really like this pub.

Called in a while ago after a walk with the dogs and enjoyed a fantastic scone and pot of tea. As we found it such a lovely, welcoming place we booked to stay a night just before Christmas. The room was spacious, clean and had a fantastic slate wet room! We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the staff were friendly and attentive. Finished the evening sat in front of the fire, perfect end to our stay.

One of the nicest Sunday roasts we have tasted in a long time! Staff were very accommodating and happily booked us in for a table when we visited the day before. Can’t fault the service from all the staff. Can also highly recommend the amazing deli also run by the pub, food was very high standard! Hoping to pop back again this week

Superb meal this afternoon, food was wonderful, dessert to die for and the staff were absolutely delightful. A must if you are passing by!

Stayed here last weekend and couldn't recommend it enough, the food, staff and accommodation was faultless! Booked again for another weekend and no doubt will book for many more xx

Had a great night. Food was great, fire was bliss, room was lovely and breakfast was cracking. Our Dog was very much loved by everyone, the staff even brought some treats out for her!!!

Went there yesterday. Service in the deli in the morning I'd say was at best unhelpful. Decided to try evening meal there.... phoned to ask about reserving but was told "they were not taking bookings..... it is first come, first served at the bar". We went anyway and we're barked at for not making a booking! Tried the bar but that was a scrum. All in all, very poor show all round. Try being polite and nice to people, it doesn't cost anything.

Excellent meal and good atmosphere, great beer and very good staff who were very caring in serving food quickly and on time.

Wonderful service and friendly staff. We called in for dinner last night on the way home from servicing our caravan. The meals are amazing! We bought the 1 year old fish, chips and beans and it was wonderful fresh quality and HUGE! Our other sons asked for cheesy chips special with an egg on the side as they love their cheesy chips! Will definitely return when in the area, it's a lovely environment to be in

Nice place for lunch and only a 3 mile walk from Coniston away from traffic and taking in lane view on route.
