Wow! A lovely cafe with some of the friendliest staff, delicious food and amazing drinks. We sat in the cute garden out back which was very peaceful and relaxing. I got the traditional breakfast and asked for no tomato or mushrooms, which the staff offered to substitute - it was possibly the best cooked breakfast I've ever had. I also got a large mocha, which was very nice and creamy - again, possibly the best I've ever tasted. We'll definitely be coming back if we're ever in the area again.

On holiday and decided to visit Totnes, came here for lunch and glad we did! Lovely staff and the food was delicious. There isn't many tables inside but they do have a lovely little garden with extra tables!

Wow, so unbelievably shocked with some of these bad reviews. For a hardworking team trying to pick up after previous owners and bad reviews, it’s proving quite difficult to make a change. Prices of food have been adjusted according to prices of suppliers, currently the UK is going through a cost of living crisis - this shouldn’t affect hospitality by the sound of some of these reviews! The cafe aims to provide a choice of food for most people who come through, trying to incorporate so much choice is difficult and yet.. they do it! Ranging from special milks, curries, traditional English pasties, cakes etc.. they seem to have it all! Also for a Totnes standard - the prices aren’t that bad, as we know. Totnes is an artisan town and the prices do reflect that. The staff are lovely and kind - very hard working and happy unless not treated with kindness, which does happen often in hospitality & customer service. Trying to make a place better after years of an undesirable reputation is tricky - let’s help these new owners to get where they need to be.. supported and smiled at.
As some will know, I am the daughter of the owners, we are a family that works hard to make this place comfortable and interesting both for staff and lovely customers.
Thankyou!

Just had a great coffee and some lovely takeaway pastries from the Green Cafe. It's got new owners and they are also doing an evening Indian dinner service at the weekends as "The Good Korma". We also tried some of their Indian food as takeaway. OMG - Outstanding!!!!
This is the new "must try" place in Totnes

This is my go to place when I go to Totnes. Whether it’s just for a coffee or for food aswell. The atmosphere and service is always happy and friendly, they make everyone feel so welcome. The food is always great, the curry’s are the best around. Couldn’t recommend it any higher!
If you are in Totnes it’s a must.

Incredibly kind people and environment, with lovely art on the walls. Stands out from other Totnes establishments by the lovely real Indian foods they serve (one of the owners is from India,) authentic and great meals.

Delicious vegan pasty in super friendly independent Totnes cafe. We received a warm welcome from the staff despite arriving at the end of the day, nothing was too much trouble - it was really great customer service. Sat outside in the sunny, peaceful and well cared for garden. Highly recommended spot with loads of options for veggies and vegans. We will definitely visit again.

We were in need of a light lunch. Their outside seats were in the sun so we took a table and 2 of us went in to choose food. We read the menu on the wall but fancied a salad which was being prepared for another customer. I asked where that salad was advertised? "Advertised?" the blond lady behind the counter repeated. I said we'd like a salad too please. "Menus over there" was the abrupt reply. Overthere was on a table inside the shop which was dark compared with sunny outside area.
We ordered salads and coffee. The salads arrived with another server, a very friendly lady, then our coffees were delivered with a thud, by the blond lady.
The food was lovely as were the coffees but as a first visit to this café, we were not impressed by the brusque manner of one of its staff.

Food OK but service was awful, rude staff. Would not recommend

Food was pleasant - we had jacket potatoe with tuna mayo...nothing out of the ordinary...simple food but with some added extras could have made it worthy of a second visit...salad dressing on the table or side of plate, more seasoning...just very basic food. But served quickly....
Noticed someone else in cafe who had ordered 2 meals..the staff hadnt heard the second order and just served them with the one meal. When the person queried the whereabouts of the second meal the young staff member said she hadnt heard them say that. No apology..no "oh goodness me I didnt hear you but hang on I will sort it quickly for you"...just basic "I didnt hear you" and awkward silence moment. I wouldn't race back to this cafe...sadly.
