A proper cafe with proper food. Every town in the UK should have somewhere as good as this. Huge well cooked portions in a spotless cafe served by the friendly owners.

Staff were friendly, accommodating and professional. Ordered a large cod and chips. It was perfect all round. Food was cooked perfectly fresh and oil was good too. I got great value for my money, enough to eat twice. They had lemon slices and wooden chip forks too which I loved.

The Codfather is an absolute delight. The owners are very welcoming and very attentive to your needs. My daughter can be fussy with food but she said it's the best sausage and chips she has ever had! She always requests we go there for our dinner now whenever we visit Trowbridge and that we do. My son is also a fan,We highly recommend The Codfather. Lovely family run business and lovely food. The menu offers a different variety too...bonus.

Welcoming, friendly environment from Rita, Sab and the waiting staff. Food always excellent and reasonably priced! Decent amount of choice on a good menu. Highly recommend to anyone in the area. 10/10 all day long. Great place to eat!

This was my first visit to this fish & chip restaurant & was the last day of my holiday, so i decided to treat myself to a haddock and chips meal with mushy peas before heading off home. I walked in & was greeted by the cook who I asked if I could eat in, he told me to take a seat & he will get a menu sent over to me, I noticed that everyone seemed to know everyone which I think is lovely as it gave off a great community warm & friendly atmosphere, I was given a menu and told that I could have a roast with all the trimmings if I wanted, I should of gone there a day earlier as the carvery I had at Toby's was cold & horrible, after making my choice I just relaxed and waited for it to be cooked. It was getting very busy and after quite some time I did think that I had been forgotten about as people were getting their meals that came in after me, my meal eventually did arrive & it looked lovely, however when I tried cutting the batter it was so hard & chewy that I couldn't cut through it, thank goodness for the lemon slices as I squeezed it on both ends of the fish which helped me to cut it, I think it must of been a frozen piece as the fish inside was very dry too which was very disappointing, the chips however were so tasty that I wanted more of them as we're the mushy peas, next time I will have the cod instead as I will definitely return.

Amazing as always! Been using Sab and Rita for fish and chips for years and the quality and quantity have always been perfect! Even when it has to be delivered to Bradford on Avon the food is piping hot, fresh and not dry! I always recommend The Codfather as it’s just amazing

Came here yesterday with two Japanese colleagues who had never tried British fish and chips. The staff were so accommodating, chatty and friendly and really made the experience a memorable one. The food was freshly cooked, piping hot and super tasty! The waiting staff also walked me to the closest cash point as I wasn't familiar with the area which was a nice added touch. 10/10 will go back if in the area again. I was also shocked to hear that they had lots of other dishes available too, including a roast dinner!!

I was working in Trowbridge yesterday and needed a quick bit to eat so I went for a medium portion of chips. I must say your chips are on a par with the best i have ever tasted, I don't know if it is the variety of potato or the oil you use but they were great, the cooking was perfect and the portion size was good. I will certainly be popping in again next time i am in town.

Recently moved to Trowbridge. And found this hidden gem! After spending most of my life growing up in North Norfolk on the coast. (Cromer) I did not think I would find a better fish and chip shop.(This is it) Staff are amazing the owners son is a credit to his parents. Fantastic fish and chips, great staff. This is definitely my Friday night meal
