The Rising Sun Pub - Truro - Photo album

I have been to the Rising Sun multiple times for drinks but last week finally we went there for a date night. We had a lovely seating. The service was outstanding. But the highlight was the food. It started with the outstanding parmesan and chorizo bread rolls which were so delicious. We then ordere
Rated as Truro's best pub/restaurant. It was my first ever visit, and I completely agree! Fab food and ale in the historic pub with a great ambience. If you haven't been before, I can recommend the seasonal mussels for a start followed by roast lamb with all the trimmings. Excellent food quality and
Surprisingly for a local pub they offer a fine dine , with a delicious menu . Tiny garden πŸͺ΄ however well and efficient layout with a well needed heaters . The pub itself it’s a low ceiling beams , gloomy tradition type rooms , relatively small. Fine wines, more then an usual offering number of two .
Our first visit to the Rising Sun and a special occasion to celebrate our anniversary. Wow! It was stunning. The best meal we’d had for a very long time. Service outstanding. Food inventive and mouth watering. Atmosphere was great. Will definitely be back. The extra touches the staff did to mark ou
An excellent Sunday Lunch , the tenderest slow cooked pork and lamb , six different fresh veg ( some a little al-dente ), Cauliflower with separate cheese sauce was good, crispy Yorkshire Pud ( not charged but have to ask ), good roasties . Loved the home made ice cream as well. Chose the Rising Sun
This is one of our favourite places to eat. The staff are so lovely and relaxed, the food is probably the best in Truro and it's always a great atmosphere. The only tiny niggle, this time the music was a bit loud for us. Other than that, a must visit pub/restaurant. πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹
A lovely interior and atmosphere and absolutely superb (if pricey) food. I had some stonking homemade bread, followed by a scallops-based starter, a loin of beef main course and a chocolate fondant for pudding. Normally I can't manage three courses but the portion sizes are perfect (and I hadn't ea
ate here a year ago and last night. Standard is still high, much better than standard pub food. Friendly and welcoming. Decent wine and ales too, which is why I can't remember what it all cost.
Amazing Sunday lunch. The lamb was perfect as was the spinach wellington. Eat in the garden on a mild October day. Survive was friendly and make a great meal all the better for it.
Amazing roast lamb lunch + a brownie, malt milk ice-cream with pouring cream ( do you really need it, um, maybe indulge yourself 🫣) was the best pud I've tasted in an age! Service was slightly but it was Sunday best enjoy it all. ❀️
My friend and I visited here a couple of weeks ago quite by chance and although it was just fish and chips, it was cooked beautifully with the best tasting tartare sauce I’ve ever had! The wonderful thing about this pub….is that it’s only half an hour away from me! This will be my go to whenever I v
Fab place, a little hidden gem. We took our two Frenchy's and ate lunch in the courtyard. Food was top class my husband had Fish and Chips and I had the ploughman's, both delicious. πŸ˜‹
Spectacular food in a historic pub. Portions were generous and the food was excellent, with seabass in caviar sauce being a standout dish for me personally. Service is very friendly and attentive, but I must call out that front of house just feels a little understaffed. Given the fair prices and gen
Fantastic stuff 😍 the welcome, Food and Beer 🍻 on the money always a great test as just opened the door 11.45 walkin customer's for early lunch and in our opinion fantastic Fish and Beer. Lovely staff too 😊. Five star 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 any day of the week.. 😁
We had an absolutely lovely meal recently at The Rising Sun. Both the pub and dining room are warm, cozy and welcoming with a wonderful old English pub feel. There were two of us having dinner and our food was excellent. We had the ribeye steak and duck; both of which tasted amazing and were very ge
Perfect Sunday lunch, lovely meal, friendly staff. Beautiful old pub/restaurant low ceilings and nostalgic decorations.. Well recommended..
The bread and butter were heavenly. Our whole meal was great and we waddled out like a pack of happy hippos.
Fantastic food and lovely pub! Was a bit disappointed to see the children's menu consisting of fish and chips, scampi and chips etc. However, the childrens meals were very good and a lot of effort had gone into them. Would definitely go again
