The restaurant was somewhat crowded for a midweek lunch. It was towards the end of the lunch serve that we walked in we did have a booking and was well within our allocation. The staff looked exhausted though they did their best to seem pleasing. The food was okay.

Enjoyed the Pie Wednesday idea as well. We had the Fish Pie (very filling) and the Lamb & Mint Pie (with nice substantial )pieces of lamb

We eat fish and vegetarian and had one of the tastiest and most interesting (in a very good way) meals we have experienced for a very long time. Very pleasant dining area, with friendly and efficient staff. The price was middle range and very good value. All the staff are happy, engaging with a good range of food and drinks. Unusually a few minutes after serving they asked us if everything was to our liking, and we had the impression that they genuinely wanted to know! We have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant to our friends and family. Hopefully it will remain under present ownership with its current chef and staff. Worth the trip to Tunstall!

Espectacular!!
This has been a massive discovery. We haven't been happy with any of the restaurants we have tried during our vacation in the Lake District. I did score them as 3 maximum, this one can't be less than a 5.
Service friendly, quick, efficient.
Food good quality, quantity, great menu. Spanish chorizo.
Dessert are amazing too.
Price is acceptable, good value for money.

Such a lovely place for dinner on a random stop from a long drive. The staff was very friendly and managed to fit us on a table there and then, and they were so welcoming to my dog as well. My dog is a little shy, but she warmed up to the staff very quickly as they were very respectful to greeting her. The food was very nice, good portions with a reasonable price!

Went on a Sunday night and although we
booked in advance, there were a couple of tables available (would definitely recommend booking though). The food was delicious and we enjoyed everything order finding it to be full of flavour and decently portioned (see photos). The service was excellent and the staff friendly and welcoming. While we didn't use it there was a snooker table available for those with time to spare.
