The Mussel And Crab

Cannot fault the food at all, everything was amazing including the homemade deserts. What let's this place down is the decor, it was like visiting my nans house. Seriously stuck in a time warp with very dated fixtures and fittings. Walls could do with a paint and dead bugs in the candle holders (didn't notice those until after the meal). Service from the 2 girls was brilliant, very attentive. We would return but only for the menu.

What a fantastic find! Hidden just off the A1 near Retford Services, this Seafood restaurant is a great place for fine dining and treating yourself, or partner. Nice homely atmosphere, friendly staff, and great seafood: mussels (as the name suggests), scallops, lobsters, and oysters - just to name a few. The oysters were fresh and we'll presented, opened, cut free, and ready to eat. Perfect! Was a little bit pricey for the area but this is an upscale (no pun intended) place with a wide range of very nice wines and a superb spot for a date or family celebration.

A hidden gem! Beautiful food in perfect surroundings, with excellent friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere. We went for my birthday midweek evening, and two other groups were also celebrating birthdays. Starters: mussels were incredible. Fish pancake was delicious and full of meaty chunks. Mains: Sea bass/bream... can't remember which, but it was excellent. Duck was cooked to perfection. Good portions. Great drinks. Couldn't manage dessert. I will definitely go again!
