Visited on Tuesday night and found a real hidden gem of a pub with good food and great staff. Despite the name it's not a touristy pub and the vibe is of a relaxed, cozy local pub. I had the seabream special which was served on crushed potatoes and hubby had sausage and mash both came with a big side portion of seasonal veg. Superb meal, didn't have to wait long and it tasted fantastic. Huge portions but we still managed to find room for pud. Well worth a visit if you're ever in Ulverston.

Great pub. Fantastic staff who know their locals and welcomed my son and I who went there for the first time. Ive been in a few pubs in Ulverston, this is the best

Lovely food, the black pudding is to die for. Brilliant staff who fitted us in although we had not booked, would go back again if we revisited Ulverston

Nice quite tucked location of the former Brittania Inn aptly renamed The Stan Laurel Inn.
An excellent selection of local beers from Ulverston Brewery; almost the brewery tap.
The food menu is also excellent and the staff will go our of their way to make bespoke snacks too.
Stan Laurel's House is worth a peek. Only 3 streets away down Chapel Street.

Service was absolutely incredible. Lots of gluten free options, they even had gluten free specials. Food was amazing and priced fairly.

Even though I phoned at the last minute on valentine's night, they fitted me and my 3 children in, with no worries.
When we arrived, all staff were friendly and welcoming. All seemed very happy there.
Other customers were friendly too, and had a chat with me and my children.
The food was amazing, and very filling. There was a good variety of choice, so something for everyone. And everything went down a treat!
Thank you for a great experience!

A very cosy pub with restaurant. Very welcoming and friendly staff. And the meals are just amazing! I had pepperpot chicken and hubby had steak and ale pie. Both served with chunky chips and veg. Served piping hot and absolutely delicious. Highly recommended.

Visted yesterday for the first time but definately not the last. Lovely surroundings, very helpful staff who went through the menu in detail as one of us was gluten free and the other dairy free. All four meals arrived at the table piping hot, with fresh vegetables and we all agreed the food was very tasty. Everything about our visit was excellent. We have found a gem of a place in our home town.

My favourite restaurant in the area! I’m obsessed with the chicken pepper pot, it’s a meal that isn’t on any other pub menu I’ve ever seen! It’s so full of flavour and lean chicken, comes with fresh vegetables and I honestly cannot fault it. It’s a firm favourite throughout my family too. My boyfriend loves the black pudding starter and everyone who’s had a meal there says how delicious it is! They also have some amazing desserts! And the quaint cottage pub feel with laurel and hardy imagery is just so sweet

A very friendly pub serving great food & ales. No wonder it's busy.

Local pub with character, warmth and friendliness in abundance. The whole experience from booking, to checking in, to ordering drinks and meals was an absolute delight! The room was basic but had everything that was required for a comfortable stay and all the staff, from mine hosts to catering, we're approachable, friendly and professional. Nothing was too much trouble and the food, drink and service were all first class. The room was half the price of anywhere else in Ulverston. I can't recommend the Stan Laurel too highly - if you're visiting Ulverston, or the Lakes in general, then give them a call-you won't regret it.
