Love the outside sitting area. Such a unique touch to the chippy. It isny my favourite chippy for taste but saying that there is absolutely nothing wrong with what you're served. And it's damn fresh and crispy :) I love the new? Use of the beeping tags to tell you when your food is done, it worked really well and ensured good freshness.
Great virtual queuing system now operating. Collect when your beeper goes off - mega easy. Quality of chips is good, but the portion size seems to depend on the size of the queue - shorter queue - more chips? Curry sauce is nice. Don't know if £ has increased recently. I never paid much attention to this before. Usually quite busy, so good sign, particularly for a small local business.
Me and a pal drove past this coming back from a hill walk and decided to drop in as it had a car park right outside and some seating. We both ordered fish and chips with mushy peas. Both agreed it was the best fish and chips we have had in years. Fish was flaky like it should be and batter cooked to perfection, chips were absolutely spot on too. Back home where we live we are spoilt with good chip shops but this honestly walked over them all. Cant wait to call back next time were in the lakes.

Long time since we've had fish and chips from here they were absolutely delicious lovely and hot fresh from the fryer.
Ordered 3 meals. Just the smell from the boxes made my mouth water, and the taste was out of this world.
Love the idea of the beeper so you can sit in your car to wait for your order .
Excellent fish and chips; worth the walk from Hatherwaite. Arrived around midday on a Friday, not long after opening. Fish was freshly cooked and moist while the batter was crispy along the edge, which was good for me.
Good portion of chips, meant for a healthy portion for lunch. My wife struggled to finish hers and we both walked away full and satisfied.
The outside benches are next to the road, so while not ideal, I was well aware of this beforehand so no reason to lower my rating.
Chips were delicious, typical chip shop chips. Would happily return on my next trip to the Lakes.

Stopped off for fish n chips and a pot of curry sauce,. Was worth the couple of minutes wait . Down the hatch , yummy but a little bit pricey , especially the curry sauce.

Fantastic chippy, prices were reasonable, staff friendly, the alarm fob for waiting customers is an excellent touch. We had 4 large chips, 3 jumbo sausages, 3 buttered barms, 2 gravy and 2 curry sauce for under £30. I would definitely recommend as the food was fantastic, not a scrap left over.
