Devon Cafe

The Shrooms on Toast were visually disappointed and flavour-wise, were rather bland and flat and texturally unsatisfying. I could not finish them. The drinks were good though. The iced orange mocha was pleasant and the signature iced tea was refreshing. I had heard of the Devon Cafe and was looking forward to it's opening in Garden City but was disappointed in my meal choice, perhaps the other menu items are better. The cafe itself is lovely and the staff were attentive and polite.

Devon Cafe in Brissy unfortunately can’t compare to Sydney’s Devon and the hype in this franchise was just a false one. Prices were definitely on the high side for what it’s worth even though other brunch places can offer similar or better for the same. Do not - I repeat - Do not try the Bubble Tea Soft Serve. It is really disappointing. However, if you’re all about that insta food game, Devon will definitely suffice for you :)

Judging by my first experience here after religiously going to their original store in Sydney, I can say it's good. I had the Croissant St Dennis which I can describe as dish where the "ingredients do all the talking". The chef definitely did the ingredients justice and cooked them all perfectly: warm flakey croissant, soft scramble with a slight wobble and juicy salty crab and fish roe. I'll have to come back and try the Breakfast with the Sakumas to compare it's consistency with the ones I've previously had.
