Green Forest Fish & Chips

First timer. The only fish and chip open around the area that we were willing to try. I’d agree with another reviewer who mentioned that customers seem like an inconvenience. Bad Points Ran out of hamburgers 🙄 Their suggestion for chips that would feed 4 was a very small portion. No lemon with fish. Good points We had souvlaki, whiting, scallops, chips, SMelb Dim Sim and potatoes cakes and they were all very tasty. Even got an extra potato cake. If we order again (and we might because the food was pretty good), will ring our order through again because they will flat out ignore you in the shop - even when you speak to get their attention. Bizarre.

Waited 2 hours for delivery then said they'd closed and our order was "unsuccessfull". It's a shame - they used to be really good. I understand they may not have control over the driver assigned (if any), but they engage the service that provides them and represents their business. This isn't a one off occurrence, and going by other reviews - I'm not there only one.

Poor quality service not surprised since the hourly wage is a measly $8, i refuse to support a business that exploits its workers with subpar meals. As well as poor ethtics this establishment lies about its products, recently i ordered a 'veggie burger' that was displayed on the menu, what i recived was far from what was advertised as i was given a burger with a beef patty. DO NOT ORDER FOOD HERE!!!

I once went in and asked for a lot burger with no bacon and egg and what I received was far from what I ordered. I received a burger with bacon and onion despite my specific request. The Service is dysfunctional at most and the owner clearly hasn't been paying his employees enough as when I asked the kind young man who served me what his hourly wage was, his reply was shocking and yet sad as he clearly didn't want the owner to hear him as he told me he gets paid $8 an hour. Very disappointing that this business is as unethical as it looks.

We were on a walking trail and hit upon Upwey surrounds to have a meal. Being Australia day, we had no choice but to grab something here. We had very low expectations and ordered a Chicken Soulaki. Boy!!! weren't we suprised. This was one of the best soulaki's I have every had. The chicken was marinated and was unbeleivable. I have had it the following week and it still was the same taste. The place does look a bit empty and that was one of the reasons for our low expecatations. Will be going here again.
