Was absolutely beautiful afternoon tea. Was so affordable too. Such an amazing feel and vibe, extremely friendly and helpful staff. And the decor and furniture lovely. Will definately be back. Thankyou so much

Worst service I have ever experienced. We arrived at 17.30 for a meal. There were 21 of us for a birthday meal. We was still there at 20.45 trying to figure the bill out. One member of staff in particular was incredibly rude when I asked if it was possible for the kids dessert to come out. The menu stated fresh home cut chips, the ones we were served were definitely not fresh home cut chips. McCain's frozen I would say. When it came to paying the bill, the staff had zero idea on how to split it into separate Bills. And had to go through each party with what they ate and cross it off the receipt. Bad service, not so great food, at a disgrace price. Definitely do not receive.

Sloanes is a nice upmarket restaurant, very cosy and service was quick., It's a little more expensive than a few other Italian restaurants I've been to in the area. The food was good, very tasty, though my fillet steak was a little too overcooked for what I asked for. The range of dishes is very good, and the menu was enough to make my mouth water just reading it. The drinks selection was very good too. It has a nice atmosphere and the staff are very attentive.

Delicious food served by excellent service staff, cooked fantastically. All the dishes are full of flavour and reasonably priced. Lunchtime menus are cheaper, serving the same meals as you would order in the evening. Set menu options are very reasonable. It is nicely laid out with sittings spaced to allow for privacy and well decorated. A great independent restaurant. Loved it.

Arrived on a Saturday afternoon when the place was empty. Greeted by the waiter who was a very polite young man. The food was amazing, the best Italian we've had in a long time. The waiter was the perfect host, friendly attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Complements to the chef, his food is amazing.

We have dined at Sloanes many times over the years and we love everything about it. The food is always amazing and the staff always welcome us back. It has a great bar area too, which we have used without dining in the restaurant. Keep up the great work guys

Craving a Sunday roast, we gave Sloanes a try. They have a good deal on a Sunday's with 2 course or 3 course options for less then 16 quid. We were going to have all 3 courses but were stuffed after our starter and main! There was a vegetarian option on the set menu, but no vegetarian option for the Sunday roast. We had roasts with turkey, lamb and beef, all of which were well done but still soft. The gravy was delicious, but very umami! So it was very rich. Staff didn't offer sauces when they brought our food, but we asked for horseradish and cranberry which we got, no problem. Massive portions of rich food, make sure you take your appetite with you!

Disapointing afternoon tea from groupon. On arrival we tried to get the attention from the person behind the bar for at least 5 minutes, he didn't turn around so we wandered into the restaurant where the waiter directed us to a table but stated he thought we had been already served. We were then simply asked by a non English speaking waiter "drink?". So after stating we were there for afternoon tea he repeated "drink" so we said tea. The afternoon tea & pot of tea then arrived. The sandwiches were so covered in Mayo they were inedible and we asked for plain ham & chicken ones. The answer was "that's the way we serve them" but they did bring plain sandwiches.
We then pointed out that our groupon deal came with prosecco. We were then told that despite paying extra for prosecco the options were tea or prosecco and tea was extra. At this point we were happy that our issues had been resolved however we were charged £4 for the pot of tea for 2.
We paid £20 plus £4 for a pot of tea for poor service, poor sandwiches, mediocre cakes and very small scones. Bargain. We won't be returning.

Been for afternoon tea today bought off groupon and booked with no fuss.
Lovely afternoon tea
Lovely place people around us were eating food that smelt and looked delicious! Contained sandwiches tea/coffee 2 pieces of different cake each and a scone with a massive tub of cream :)
Dropped a star as we'd have preferred to be asked what we wanted on our sandwiches maybe some choice of what you could have would be more appropriate as we didnt like a couple of them. And we have to pay for parking which was a bummer.
The lady 'ana' who dealt with us was a delight! New we were coming and was really nice and helpful. Looked like the only member of staff on she was very busy and was doing a great job. Even wished us a good afternoon.
Would recommend :)

Went for a family meal before going to the panto next door. Arrived about 5pm very quiet and music way too loud for a restaurant. So onto the food. Both me and my son wanted a steak so I had the one off the early bird menu (being a cheap skate Yorkshire lad ) this was supposed to have been marinated in Thai chilli. My son is fussy and wanted a plain one. This had to ordered off the A La carte menu (Expensive). What I'm trying to say don't be conned into buying both as the marinated one was just a plain steak and same size meal as the A La carte one. All in all though not a bad place.

Went to sloanes Restaurant for the first time for a friends Birthday when we arrived we was given a warm welcome and the option where to sit the staff was very attentive and very friendly ,pleasent. The Early Bird menu
2 courses £11-95 3 courses £14-95 was a sensible price
The food looked great and tasty we brought a Birthday cake in and the staff put the candles on brought out the cake at the end of our meal as requested with the complementary Happy Birthday music song clapping their hands which was fantastic and made our evening i would highly recomend people to visit Sloanes Restaurant for an amazing time

Visited Sloanes for the early bird menu with family. Had the rib eye steak which was superb - the best I have had in a long while. Friendly but very professional staff. Will definately visit again.

One of the best meals I ever had! Pleased with the service and great atmosphere. I can't recommend it enough and everybody should try it! Huge thumbs up to all the staff and the chefs. We'll be back.

Visited the sunny terrace and we had a meal and some drinks as well as dessert. We had a range of meals ranging from Sloanes prawns for starter, Salmon with langoustine sauce and the Sunday roast lunch. The cocktails were great and we thoroughly enjoyed all the food. For dessert we tried the homemade chocolate pudding, lemon tart (homemade as well) and also a selection of ice cream. The service was outstanding from the guys to the young waitresses working who've obviously been well trained. Highly recommended and we will most definitely be back!

Went tonight for tea. Excellent food you know its a good place when the chef makes his own salad dressing and doesnt go for the easy option out of a bottle. Vibrant and relaxed atmosphere. Adds a bit of class to Wakefield.

The staff at the restaurant are a credit to it. The waiter who served us is truly a wonderful and kind person. I am so grateful to him for his attentiveness and sweetness in making our meal so special

Went here one night last week and was a really nice place the Peroni was just as good as a good pint of Stella and the steak I ordered was cooked just the way I asked for it so I would go again with out a doubt

Went here for lunch last Sunday , my partner had the turkey dinner , he said it was nice but not enough of it . I asked the waiter about the prawn pasta dish and what type of pasta it came with , he said it came with spaghetti but it turned out to be a gnocchi which I've never had before but I didn't enjoy. When I told the waiter he just said sorry he had got it wrong but didn't offer an alternative ( even though I had left most of it ) , he was really pleasant but maybe should have asked another member of staff if he wasn't sure as I wouldn't have ordered that dish had I known, we then sat there for another half an hour after finishing our main but nobody brought the dessert menu over so we went to the bar paid the bill and left. I would go again to have a drink and sit in outdoor area which is lovely but wouldn't rush back for food which is a shame as it's only 5 minutes from our house.

Visited Sloanes today for Sunday lunch, and the service was nothing short of exceptional. All of the waiting staff were polite, friendly and attentive, the food was delicious - a traditional roast with an Italian twist in the form of delicious flavours in the gravy and vegetables. The Yorkies were fab - not an auntie Bessie in sight! And that tiramisu...
