The best Pornstar Martini I’ve ever had! The cosmopolitan and espresso martinis I had were also excellent. Please add French Martinis to your menu! I had tapas and every dish was delicious. Large selection of food and drink at very good prices. The atmosphere is also great here and the staff are friendly.
Amazing food, very tasty and quality ingredients. The cocktails and beers are also outstanding. To top it all off the staff are courteous and attentive. Fantastic place for a bite to eat and drinks
We were in Wakefield for work for 2 days and tried out Qubana on our first night. We had (a lot of) tapas and every dish was yummy. The service was good and the staff are very friendly, especially Penny. We liked it so much we returned the following evening to sample some more of the tapas menu...everything was delicious. I also recommend the Dark Forest Espresso Martini!
Love love love! Went here for lunch today with my mum and (again) had a lovely time, thank you to Borat (if I remember correctly!) for looking after us! Been here a fair few times now and have never been disappointed! The staff are always so lovely and welcoming. The drinks menu is so varied (the gin selection being my absolute fave) and so many good cocktails to try. Will definitely return
Booked the vault on a Saturday evening to celebrate a friends birthday, from start to finish the service was exceptional, drinks on tap, not even finished before you could order another drink, food was lovely, the ability to play your own music selection inside the vault, made for a fantastic evening, with great food, drink and company. Would 100% do it again - already a frequent visitor for the cocktails
Had a fantastic meal in the Vault for a friend’s hen do. The staff are so friendly and attentive and really looked afterwards, we will definitely come back again
Excellent food & service & very atmospheric for a Thursday evening. This was our 2nd visit, this time with our 2 boys, 19 & 15 who both enjoyed the food & place. Would highly recommend & we look forward to visiting again!
Fantastic qubana take on afternoon tea. Really enjoyed the chicken skewers and chorizo lollipops. As well as lots of yummy sweet treats. Would highly recommend.
Spent a fabulous New Year’s Eve here. Booked in for a meal which was delicious, waiting staff were so attentive, music and female singer were spot on so can’t wait to book again soon 🤩
The food here is absolutely out of this world definitely recommend if you haven’t been
I booked the 'Vault' for my wife's birthday party, and as there were only 7 of us, it was just right! The ambience is fantastic as well as that certain feeling of being 'special'.
The restaurant was busy, but we had no problem with service.....staff kept looking in on us all afternoon, and if something was wanted, we ordered it and it arrived! The meals were excellent. After many visits I had wanted to try the ''Flying Pig', so I did! It was huge, but gorgeous and is well recommended!
Our other friends had choices from the tapas menu, and it was all excellent.
All in all, I think that Qubana in its present location is something that Wakefield has been crying out for for many years. Good food at reasonable prices in superb surroundings and with attentive and knowledgeable staff.
Brilliant!
Muchas Gracias Amigos!
We booked a table for 7pm as we know it can get busy here, especially on a weekend. When we arrived 5 minutes before the hour, our table wasn't ready, understandable as we were early. This wasn’t a huge issue as we got a drink and sat in the bar area, however, we had still not been seated by 7:30. We asked a member of staff how much longer we would be waiting, and conveniently the table was ready straight after asking, with no apology for the delay. There was a live singer which was a nice addition to our experience, however, we were unfortunately seated in the small side room (with around 5 tables) near the entrance, away from the main restaurant and the better atmosphere. We could hear the singer, but would have preferred to be in the main restaurant. We love that this place offers both spanish and cuban tapas as well as other main dish options. To eat, we opted for some tapas dishes so that we could share them. We ordered; the hummus, chorizo lollipops, roja vieja, seabass, verdura jambalaya, belly pork and patatas bravas. The portions were of a good size and nicely presented. Most of the food was really tasty as well, although we did feel that the batter covering the chorizo lollipops was very soggy and quite bland. The hummus definitely needed another slice of bread for the amount of hummus. The roja vieja tasted absolutely amazing, the beef was cooked to perfection with so much flavour, however, this was only served with one small taco, which meant as we were sharing (which is what most people do with tapas) we had to half the taco meaning there was loads of meat for only half a taco. All of the other dishes were up to a great standard. This visit wasn't our first to Qubana and it won't be our last, but we hope that next time we will be in the main restaurant.
Loved the bottomless brunch here! I'd recommend the spinach and mushrooms, mojo chicken wings and patatas bravas!
Friendly happy service, lovely surroundings, great use of historic building. Open kitchen. Good variety of dishes on tapas menu.
Curried goat was lovely, very tender and tastey.
Why not a 5 across the board?
1 - Tried at 8.15 to book table by phone to be told none available and last orders 9pm, found plenty available online up to 10pm, and booked for 8.45. Were plenty of tables on arrival and walk-ins were seated after 9.30. Took quite a while for someone to greet on arrival, despite two staff noticing quickly they didn't tell front of house.
2 - music just too loud. Hard to order, one item wrong as a result but rectified quickly and taken off bill. Had work to have a conversation and everyone shouting as a result making it even louder.
3 - salmon dish quite small (cold item)
Good overall, with a few tweaks could be very good.
Personal preference; crisp the Bravas, make mussel sauce less fishy, swap wrap for bread.
Check out the dining room at left of bar, through the old safe door. Great private dining area!
The quality and service of food are very good, however the price is a bit higher.
Loved it.. great food & the staff are so nice 5 adults & a toddler aged 2 for a 6 o'clock meal. A live singer who was great. Our grandson loved dancing to him singing. We moved closer to the bar afterwards for drinks made to feel welcome.
Visited for the Sunday roast (2 course menu option) and drinks. The restaurant has a really funky yet relaxed vibe and the interior and decor is to a very high standard. Staff very welcoming and we were seated without having made a reservation. Ordered the halloumi and wild mushrooms and spinach on sourdough to start and the chicken Sunday roast with all the trimmings and a side of cauliflower cheese. The food was well presented and tasted amazing! I'd also highly recommend the French martini. My only piece of criticism, was the constant hounding to see if we wanted more drinks from multiple wait staff. It became a huge distraction and annoying. Would definitely recommend and the service was fab.
Incredible food, lovely staff and the decor and atmosphere is amazing.
One of the best places in Wakefield, very well managed. A pleasant experience all evening. A great menu with many dishes I had never heard of! Good selection of ales and wine and knowledgeable staff to help you choose the best one. Decor is very nice and the whole place has a cosy intimate feel.
Love this place, especially the tapas.
Service always top notch.
And rooftop garden is great in summer.
Staff always friendly and attentive.
My friend and I shared 6 tapas and that was just the right amount. Left enough for dessert. Fantastic food and service was great. We sat upstairs which allowed for conversation. Downstairs was buzzing. If I was just going for drinks, I would have stayed Downstairs.
Can't fault the service even though they are all 17 years old! The food was great. Tapas Portions are way smaller than I remember them to be, but that was fine, it just meant we ate more of them this time! That said, dessert size was huge! And all very tasty. Lovely place great atmosphere even on a Tuesday night. Recommended :)
We arrived earlier than expected for our table (which we added an extra person to by calling earlier in the day and they sorted this for us) the staff memner front of house was very welcoming and checked to see if our table was ready, it wasn't which was to be expected as we were 30+ minutes early, we had drinks at the bar while we waited (only about 15 minutes before we were told our table was ready). The bar was quite busy however it was 8pm the Saturday after pay day so probably couldn't have picked a more popular time to go!
The waitress who served us was polite and kind. The drinks were lovely and brought to the table promptly as was the food which we ordered. Me and another of our party ordered 3 tapas/starter dishes each and a side of fries to share all together, it doesn't look much but the food is so tasty and filling we couldn't finish it all!! Each dish was perfectly prepared and presented. The scallops and mushrooms were my favourite if I had to choose but I really enjoyed them all.
The atmosphere and decor is great. On this occasion I didn't go to the terrace upstairs but I have before which is lovely in itself and I believe there is a secret bar downstairs somewhere.
Love love love Qubana! A gem for wakefield 💎
Went on a Saturday night so it was very busy- still got served quickly. Bar staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Lovely interior - will definitely be back!
Great food. Very polite and friendly service Good choice of food and drink. Lovely surroundings and ambience. Would recommend.

Party of 6 adults & 1 child. We were looked after very well by the lovely staff and the tapas dishes we chose were plentiful & tasty. Why only 4 stars overall then? I have an almost pathological hatred of being ripped off over the drinks in British restaurants! £7.10 for 175 ml wine, £3.40 pint of coke, £3 small bottle ginger beer. Anyway we'll probably go back again for the food but avoid the drinks other than water!! Sorry to mention this but otherwise happy.
Good quality food, solid service (if a bit impersonal), nice interior and atmosphere. We visited during the 40% off in January, but without the discount it's maybe a little expensive. The menu holds lots of appeal so will probably return again soon.
Food was amazing, great portions, vibe awesome. Would highly recommend.
