First time here, got the mixed grill, the meat was quality at its best..onion rings in a beautiful batter and a bucket of chips, served on a warm plate and the place has a nice atmosphere. .highly recommend to anyone.
We've been 3 times now and not only is the food awesome its the lovely Yorkshire welcome you get when you walk through the door. I cannot recommend this pub and bistro enough. Good honest high end pub food with fantastic Yorkshire welcome. Ali who has served me and chatted to us yesterday is can asset to the place. All the staff have been lovely. Had 50th birthday meal in plough 9 of us I think and everyone of us complement ed the food some had steak some veal I had mixed grill ( a real battle to eat all the mixed grill ) had a really nice time ... Thank you

Had a gorgeous meal here tonight! The food and service was outstanding! We had The Plough recommended to us by a friend and we weren't disappointed! We took our two young children with us, who, on arrival received a little activity bag (colouring, pencils, stickers & sweets!), a lovely gesture! Rayt good food at a rayt price was stuffed after that and ad a snooze staff all welcoming and friendly couldn't do enough so it's a return visit from us definitely
Came tonight with my husband and 2 boys. The staff were attentive and efficient and very welcoming. We had a delicious meal and will be returning. What a wonderful family pub

Works do yesterday. Food was great I had mixed grill it defeated me. It was tasty and served visually appealing. The staff were on the ball as we were in a large group they were also good at the banter we were giving them. A great location with great food I didn’t hear a bad comment from any of our group. 👍🏻😄🍖🍗🍰
Decided to randomly try this out, and what a surprise! Shame it's hidden away but it's worth the visit. Had the warmth and feel of a traditional British pub, fancy wine bar it's not but staff are super welcoming and friendly, and the food? Well... Crikey, for those that watch those 'worth it' YouTube videos? What this place serves absolutely is! If you're ever hungry, be prepared for portion gluttony. The other half's pie was massive and stuffed with nicely seasoned slow cooked beef that just melted. My 'small' mixed grill was a lovely assortment of a lamb chop, chicken breast, mini beef rump and gammon, all topped with a fried egg and done to a high standard, nothing over or under cooked. The chips are definitely hand made too! Definitely will be going back,sooner rather than later 😀

Never been before so decided to give it a go, so glad we did. Beautiful family run pub with home cooked food.
We went for Sunday dinner and had a choice of 4 meats, you could mix and match up to 3!!!
I had chicken and lamb, both delicious and generous portion. Each meal came with Yorkshire pud, mash and roast potatoes, stuffing and individual veg side dish and personal Gravy boat.
Also had the extra side of cauliflower cheese....... Incredible!
Staff super friendly and relaxed, quick table service and making sure we were happy with everything.
Social distancing and sanitising very impressive.
Had puddings because after the Sunday dinner we knew they would be good...... They were amazing. Nearly had to roll myself out the door when we finished.

If you fancy delicious home cooked food in a traditional pub environment with friendly, attentive staff....... This is the place for you. Can't wait to return.

Sunday lunch is superb. Homemade food with proper yorkshires. Loads of meat on your plate. Reasonable prices. Staff friendly and helpful.
Really enjoyed our meal here. Good home cooked style food. The chicken tower burger defeated me but was delicious. My only small quibble was that the chips were a little on the hard side, the smaller chips were great though.
Would reccomend trying here, pub had a nice atmosphere too.
Went to the plough today for a Sunday lunch all I can say is I have eaten a lot of Sunday lunches and this one was up there with the best of them, home cooked Yorkshire Puds plenty of meat, roast potatoes to die for and loads of freshly cooked vegetables, loved the gravy and they even give you a extra gravy boat, we purchased the cauliflower cheese for two and it was certainly worth the extra £2.
So all in all good value for money, you won't be hungry when you come out and the staff and customers were all very friendly, we will certainly be visiting again very soon, keep up the good work.
Lovely atmosphere .... very friendly ... food was delicious all fresh produce and decent portion sizes !!! ... would defiantly recommended...... staff extremely helpful polite.. after our meal.we were asked if any improvements could be made and tko be honest service /food/atmosphere were excellent ...so there wasn't anything huge we could suggest only that they use Heinz ketchup in future ha ha ... and the chef as said They will !!! ... and they do a beautiful Sunday lunch (my partner as previously had the lunches and say they are amazing been told.its best to book as they get busy ) ... so I will.be going back soon to sample.!!! 😊
We went for Sunday lunch. They were very busy,we hadn't booked a table but they fitted us in. The service was quite slow but the staff were very friendly and helpful.
We ordered drinks,my bottle of Beck's came from the fridge but it was warm so they didn't charge for it. We ordered a starter and a main course each, when the garlic mushrooms came they were supposed to have butter and crusty bread with them but mine had no bread so they didn't charge us for either of those, they were very nice. We waited quite a while for the main course which could have been warmer but we didn't complain as we had already waited quite a while already , the beef was very nice as were all the accompanyments. My wife said the New Zealand Sauvignon blanc was delicious she had two large glasses. Total cost, food £19-90. wine £15-90.
Would definitely go again, probably at a less busy time.
Friendly pub with respected food list. I'd bought a pint and two half's and was happily enjoying. Landlord says he's just changed the barrel and reckoned the new stuff'd be 'fresher' so swished away the old and replaced with the new... Right or wrong, that's a man who cares for his beer! Family friendly, usually a negative for me, but we'll worth a detour.
I haven't been to this place for 20yrs. The inside has changed alot but still maintains that oldy worldy feeling. Yorkshire stone floors, big old fire places and quaint small areas. But this is a good thing, it feels like it been this way for a hundred years, fantastic! The staff are very friendly and polite, good wine, beer and larger.
But the really good thing about this place is the food. It is very,very,very good! I had the steak and ale pie, and I can say in the 30 years I have been eating out, it was the best pie I have ever had. My husband had the belly pork and he said to me, and I quote" if I have ever had better belly pork I can't remember."so go, give it s try, and I am sure you will not be disappointed.
Highly recomend!!! Fab pub,atmosphere! Excellent food!! Best chicken burger i av ever had in my life! The minted lamb and belly pork also enjoyed to max!! The staff and chef are really friendly and welcoming! Dont miss an oportunity,u wont regret it 😍

This is a lovely pub. The food looks fantastic, the Yorkshire puddings alone could win an award. The staff are really lovely and helpful. Cant wait to go again.
Wow what a brilliant place this is we have had Sunday lunch here a number of times and have always enjoyed it so we brought the family for an 80th Birthday celebration of around 20 or so and we have to say the owners Woody and Kelly and Julia and all the staff are an absolute credit to the industry,so if you want the warmest welcome with excellent food and attentive staff this is the place,we will be back!! Had my 90th birthday function at the Plough. Absolutely perfect - everyone so helpful and buffet we had was excellent. Can’t rate it high enough. Not a single word of complaint from anyone, just praise. 29 in our group and nothing left to chance. Would recommend the Plough to anyone wanting to hold a function. My thanks to all concerned.
