I have visited The New Union several times during the week And weekends day and night.
As I drink Alcohol rarely, I'm always welcomed for a coffee and chat. David and Staff are very welcoming and pleasant as are the regulars, Always someone to chat with.
Clean and tidy Outside and In, plus shelter in the beer garden for Smoker's.
Good access for wheelchair users and plenty of comfortable seating. Excellent acts and Karaoke plus quiz nights.
Great night. The quiz night on Thursday night is friendly and fun.
The venue is super welcoming, both the manager and crowd are wonderful, but the furniture really needs updating, the sofas are collapsing in on themselves, and none of the tables match

It would not hurt to clean up the toilet a little, but in general - a great place!
Well what can I say……….. I went into the new Union looking for food, but they do not serve food anymore, manager was very friendly and greeted me with a smile, excellent customer service skills, since that day I have been in many times on different days and nights, the bar area is always clean and tidy, same as the toilets but the whole pub could do with being updated as it is looking tired, I have seen the manager trying to get customers in through Facebook and other social media outlets, but this can be difficult with the outdated decor and tired looking bar. Furniture is sparse and could do with being matching. To say this is a marstons pub the Calder and hop is the same brewery and is more upto date with a vibrant colour scheme.

Brilliant pub. Use this as my regular because the staff and people are so friendly and polite. Always feel welcome and comfortable. Ordered a burger from the menu and I couldn't fault it. Absoloutly beautiful. Best burger I've had in a long time. Great value for money.
