Well what a place to visit......my husband treated me for our anniversary and I have to say the flavours of the food were amazing! I am a little fussy with some foods and was recommended by our waiter Mitchell to try the BBQ pigs cheek and at first I was very apprehensive but wow it was tasty- so glad for the recommendation. The cracker, bread, starter, main and dessert were all presented with finesse and almost looked to good to eat! My only slight criticism was that my chicken on my main was cold so it has left me to put 4 stars instead of 5 which I feel bad for however it is justified as for such a high quality establishment this was so unexpected. I did eat it without any complaint as I wanted to eat my food with my husband and not on my own- unfortunately I did not recieve any apology and was just told the kitchen would be informed. I would still recommend and if this happened again I would speak up sooner as we do plan to visit again. All staff were friendly and every time we got served they explained all that was on our plates- what a lovely touch!

We went to The Boat Inn last night for a meal and we were very impressed. The pub has been very tastefully refurbished and has a welcoming atmosphere, you are greeted on entering the restaurant. The food was fantastic from thestarter to the sweet with lots of extra chef's special courses in between and a choice of about 3 choices on the set menu. There's also a taster menu for an additional £30. I couldn't fault the food, it was wonderful and the service was perfect - we counted approximately 11 staff including the chefs and everyone was very attentive as you would expect from an upmarket establishment. There was a good selection of beers on tap and an extensive wine list. Altogether it's a lovely place to eat and we will definitely be going back 👍

Following a previous bad visit a couple of years ago, we were convinced to try the boat out again. We were pleasantly surprised in the change of attitude of staff and the atmosphere was so much better, with the tables being spaced out better and food improved ten fold. There was slight mis-timing between food and wine, with the sommelier still explaining the wine when the food arrived, and the wait staff having to manoeuvre around the glasses on the table, but on the whole the staff were pleasant, and helpful and the whole experience was definitely positive

The Boat Inn had been on our hit list to visit since we saw Liam on Great British Menu. Honestly it was worth the wait between that day and today. We always go out for Easter Sunday Lunch every year and The Boat in was 2023's pick. The service was incredible, attentive, polite, told us about the food when it arrived at the table. The beer garden is lovely and a sun trap. The stool for your hand bag in the restaurant is a lovely touch. The sunday lunch menu was incredible. The starters were beautiful, the beef was perfectly cooked, I could have drunk the beef fat gravy from the jug, the desserts were stunning. The parkin cake was sticky and delicious. We will 100% be coming back for the tasting menu.

From the moment you step inside you know you have arrived somewhere special. The grounds are beautiful and inside is well decorated. The service is second to none. The food as you can see was perfection in every way- presentation/ flavour and balanced. The cocktails were particularly special and would recommend trying. Simply one of the best restaurants in the UK without London prices.

Absolutely stunning. Fantastic high end restaurant. The four of us opted for the tasting menu. Service was great with engaging and enthusiastic introductions to each course and regular genuine check ins to ensure all was well. The food was amazing. How lucky are we that we've recently moved less than four miles up the road. Not cheap but our table was booked from 18:30 and we left at 10:30. A full and rewarding evening.

Amazing dining experience and the staff were attentive and knowledgeable on what was being served. When booking it also asked if we were celebrating an occasion, to which my partner answered anniversary. We were greeted with a card on our table from the staff to congratulate us. Really nice touch and great environment. We will highly recommend to anyone looking for a fine dining experience.

Lunch The Boat Inn with Chef Liam Dillon Absolutely gorgeous 😍 ... and the food ain't bad either😃 We've been a big fan of Liam and the food he serves is amazing 👏 We had the 3 course set lunch £40 with sides of Hispi cabbage & Beef fat chips. (Just look😃 at them chips😋) Which we feel is great value for such top quality produce cooked to perfection. Every course was delicious and beautifully presented. We were lucky enough to sit at the chef's 👨‍🍳 table right in front of all the action. It was lovely watching 👀 all the kitchen working together and Liam orchestrating it all. Thought we were watching another episode of Great British menu and we would of scored a 10 definitely. All the staff were lovely and very professional. Thank you to Liam and all his team for a great visit. If you find this useful give a 👍
